Lily Creek Lodge is nestled in a forested valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the heart of North Georgia Wine Country, only an hour's drive from downtown Atlanta.
All guest rooms and suites at this European-style bed and breakfast Lodge have entrances separate from the Lodge's common areas and include feather comforters and pillows, fine linens, art and collectibles, private bath and VCR or DVD. Some suites have kitchens and or jacuzzi tub. From the moment you enter the Hobbit-like front door with 16th Century hardware off a sunken ship, you'll begin to transcend everyday life.
Your adventures away from The Lodge should include the scenic village of Dahlonega, site of the Nation's first gold rush in the late 1820s. Visit the Gold Museum and the historic town Square where you will find many art, antique and craft stores. This region, the heart of North Georgia wine country, and Gateway to the scenic splendors of the North Georgia Mountains, is crossed by the Chestatee and Etowah rivers which are ideal for whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing. Other activities are hiking, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding and golf. Schedule a tour at the Kangaroo Conservation Center, and a wine tasting and tour at a local vineyard. See Amicalola Falls, the highest waterfall in the eastern U.S., or drive to one of the nearby State Parks. Also close by is The Station, site of the beginning of the Cherokee Nation's "Trail of Tears".

The Lodge amenities include an arched stone fireplace in the Art Nouveau gathering room. Relax and enjoy a blazing fire while sipping a cup of hot cocoa or cider. Read, play games, or re-live the day's adventures. There is also a swimming pool with a rushing waterfall, an outdoor hot tub in the pavilion, a swing in the woods and a bocci court.
The Lodge acreage is a wildlife sanctuary and the home of many flora and fauna found only in this mountain ecology. Bring your binoculars or borrow ours to observe the hummingbirds, finches, hawks and woodpeckers, as well as a myriad of butterflies. Raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, or deer may cross your path in the early morning.
The Lily Creek Lodge is a year round, quiet mountain retreat, with each change of the seasons providing its own special magic:
- In Spring, the delicate pinks of wild honeysuckle and the brilliant orange blossoms of the flame azalea accentuate the white flowering dogwood. Our peaches, cherries, figs, pears, apples, blackberries and blueberries are also in bloom.
- In Summer, the fruit is ripe and the lush greens and delightfully cool evenings provide our guests with a respite from life's cares.
- Fall brings Nature's palette to life when the leaves change and the mountains are painted in spectacular reds, yellows and oranges.
- Winter opens new vistas as the hardwoods shed their leaves. This is an ideal time to observe the native wildlife and enjoy the beautiful views.
- Each of Lily Creek's uniquely furnished rooms depict a geographical or period theme emphasizing romance or adventure. Refresh and energize yourself while being lulled into forgetfulness by the cozy quaintness and quirky elegance. Fine antiques, collectibles and artwork, coupled with high quality linens, down comforters and feather pillows yield an ambience of rustic elegance you are sure to enjoy.
