  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Janet and Ric for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

They come for the Blue Ridge mountain experience and our incredible customer service.

What are you best known for?

We are best known for our attention to detail, amazing mountain views, and just plain making our guests comfortable while they enjoy this beautiful mountain area.

    What makes your inn unique?

We are just 2 miles from town, yet perched on the side of a mountain, which makes it easy to explore the area and take advantage of all the many activities, like white water rafting, fishing, zip lining, horseback riding, and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

What do you love most about your inn?

What I love most is our setting...the lodge grounds are a Certified Natl. Wildlife Habitat, which means lots of birds, deer, wild turkey, and even an occasional bear sighting!

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

It's the perfect town for the whole mountain experience...so much to do here! I would say most people come to ride the train, hike or just enjoy the crisp, cool mountain air, especially when their hometowns are sweltering!

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

We most often hear that our attention to detail is second to none...that's what we pride ourselves on.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    Waterfalls, waterfalls, waterfalls...

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Ride the train, hike some of the trails, fly fish in the river, boat on the lake, white water raft, go zip lining, and we have some of the best unique shopping in the country!

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

While most of the activities require a car to get to, many of our guests walk the quiet country roads just to relax.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

Our Main Street downtown has SO many good restaurants it's hard to choose, but probably our favorite would be the Southern Charm great, reasonable Southern cooking!

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

Our local Chamber of Commerce is WONDERFUL and very user friendly... www.blueridgemountains.com

How many rooms does your inn have?

    We have four rooms.

    Do you accept pets?

While we are not able to accept pets, we can recommend pet lodging for pet owners.
