COME HOME TO CENTRAL FLORIDA
Nestled in the heart of five acres of beautiful wooded land, Thurston House overlooks tranquil Lake Eulalia and is the perfect escape from the pressures of the day. Thurston House is located just five miles north of downtown Orlando, yet years away in feeling.
This 1885 Queen Anne Victorian home was the winter get-away for wealthy businessman, Cyrus B. Thurston of Minneapolis and has been restored back to its original splendor. Thurston House has the charm of beautifully restored woodwork, original hardwood floors, six beautiful mantles and wonderful wood paneling. It is decorated in a period style using antiques and reproductions.

Stroll the beautiful grounds with over an acre of fruit trees, flowering bushes, herb garden and flower gardens. Find the small hide-away areas complete with benches throughout the yard, or be active by playing croquet, fishing from the banks of Lake Eulalia, or strolling through the camillia bushes.
Enjoy the newly renovated wrap around porch with it's beautiful blue and green accents and glowing pine floor. Escape to the side porch if you really want to get away and sit in the swing overlooking the garden and watch the birds entertain you.
Curl up in one of the three cozy guest rooms, each named after a former family. Thurston House offers three guest rooms, all with queen sized beds and private bath.
Awaken to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee set out early in the dining room. A full breakfast is always offered, and will be served by candlelight at your individual table.
There are also guest common areas - a front parlour to relax in, a back parlour to watch television and work on a puzzle, and a wonderful wrap-around porch.

Directions to Thurston House from the north -
Travel Rt. I-4 West - Take exit #90, Maitland Blvd. At bottom of exit go left. Go over I-4 and take the first right - Sandspur. Go to the stop and go right - still Sandspur. Go to light and go left - Wymore. Follow to light and go left - Kennedy Blvd. (this turns into our street - Lake Avenue). We are just over 1/2 mile down on the left. There is a small Thurston House sign and our mailbox with the numbers #851. You will not see us until you turn in!Directions to Thurston House from the South or West -
I-4 East to Exit 88 - Lee Rd. At bottom of exit, go right, then immediately get in the left lane to go left on Wymore. Follow to the first light - go right on Kennedy (Kennedy turns into Lake Ave in Maitland). From the time you turn right, we are just over 1/2 of a mile down on the left. There is a very small Thurston House sign & our mailbox with the numbers #851. You will NOT see us until you turn in.Directions to Thurston House from the Orlando International Airport - Travel to North Rt.#436. Follow for 12 miles. Turn left onto Howell Branch Road. This will change name to Horatio Blvd. when you enter Maitland. Follow past 7 lights and go left at the 8th (approx 3 miles) on Rt.17-92, Orlando Avenue. Follow to the 3rd light (approx .6 miles) and go right on Lake Avenue. We are just over ½ mile down on the right. There is a small Thurston House sign. You will not see us until you turn in.
