  • Introduction

An elegant estate overlooking the broad St. Johns River, ten miles south of Jacksonville, thirty miles north of St. Augustine, the Club Continental, built in 1923 as the Palmolive family residence, is a quiet retreat in its own hushed world.

The architecture is Mediterranean with stucco and clay tile roof. Formal grounds include gardens with fountains, giant oaks, and an elegant courtyard.

For over seventy years, the Club Continental property has been lovingly preserved by the descendants of Caleb Johnson, the founder of the Palmolive Soap Company. Today the Club offers and wide array of special privileges to its members and overnight guests.

Antiques, fishing, parks, shoping, sporting events and theatre are nearby. We proudly announce fifteen new suites with dynamic views of the St. Johns, each with its own unique style. At the River Suites, you can enjoy fireplaces, jacuzzis and four-poster beds. Of course, each room also comes with complimentary continental breakfast, but at Club Continental, there's so much more.
