Romantic Key West B&B on Duval Street
Family owned and operated as an intimate, all-adult bed and breakfast since its conversion from single family occupancy in 1984, the Tropical Inn is a compound comprised of an historic Bahamian-style Conch house and garden cottages, renovated with every contemporary amenity while retaining the original character of the structures.
The tranquil compound is centered by a lush palm garden with sparkling waterfall pool and whirlpool spa. Artfully blending the intimacy of a romantic B&B with the hushed, cosmopolitan ambiance of a boutique hotel, the Tropical Inn is, at once, both personable and private.
A sunny Caribbean welcome is yours at this magically relaxing island escape to which you will find yourself planning to return even before you have left. Smiling and attentive, but unobtrusive, staff stand ready to offer you distinctively personal service, assuring that your island holiday is one of your most memorable. Have a special request? Just ask.
Accommodations are professionally designed, meticulously clean, appointed with quality furnishings, and thoughtfully detailed to assure your comfort and convenience.
Elegance Without Pretentiousness
Casual but Uncompromising Style
The Tropical Inn is conveniently located at the mid-point of the main tourist corridor, Duval Street -- walking distance to all Key West attractions, and within a half mile of the farthest point of Old Town, in any direction.
Each morning a tantalizing island-style breakfast buffet is served on the garden terrace, featuring an abundance of breads and pastries, quality spreads, fresh tropical fruits and juices, protein selections, yogurt, cereals, coffee and tea.
Driving: US1/Truman Avenue to Duval Street. Right onto Duval; the inn is on your left in the middle of the second block.
Flying: we are a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport. Ferry: We are a half-mile from the port.
Hidden away, just steps from the dynamic energy of Duval Street, is our romantic garden. Reminiscent of the sequestered courtyards of New Orleans’ French Quarter, the garden is divided into two levels. The upper level features a waterfall pool and the lower level garden has a hot tub where guests can soak away the cares of the world.
A most romantic tradition, unique to Key West at the Tropical Inn: love locks. Adopting a centuries-old Chinese custom, couples affix locks to Old World public edifices, most commonly bridges and gates, to symbolize their everlasting devotion. A "natural" for our romantic B&B, the gesture has spread to the big bird cage in our garden! Guests can commemorate a special occasion by bringing along a padlock or choose one we have on hand. When the lock snaps shut, closed forever, the moment will be captured, sealing their devotion and binding your biographies forever in the moment.
