Hibiscus Coffee and Guesthouse, The Place to Be
We are proud to say we are hidden inside of Grayton beach. We are not Destin, FL or Panama City, FL. We are OLD Florida.
Three houses have been converted into accommodations. Our main Hibiscus house has four rooms and our on site restaurant. This cafe is open to the public and feeds our guests. We have returned to our original roots of Vegetarian AND added the clean and healthy aspect with Organic. Bert's Barn was one of the oldest homes in the area, which was moved here to our property by the owners Kurt and Barbara Tape. This house has five rooms -- one of which is handicapped accessible. The two top rooms have been converted into mini suites which could potentially sleep four.
We also have 2 one bedroom apartments, which have a slightly more modern feel, and are upstairs from our office. Decor for Hibiscus is your old 1930's Miami style Florida. Each room has it's own personal flair -- Funky Bird, Old Florida, Big Easy, Tropical Bird, Romance, Woodpecker Cottage, Magnolia, Turner, Hibiscus, Art Deco, Flats. Every morning we put a quote up on our website, with a "BE" word, and the cafe staff writes this word on our chalkboard sign outside. This is a fun way to connect with locals and tourists. Family owned and run, we love people to make Hibiscus their home away from home. The feeling of sleeping in your Grandmas extra bedroom. We also house an awesome wedding and brunch venue that is called The Backyard of Love. This was literally a backyard, cleared out and converted into an outdoor venue for guests and patrons to enjoy.
Nestled among the trees and Spanish Moss, we are an undiscovered jewel, fitting for all and any types of people.
12 different rooms to suit needs, accommodations and taste. Our "Backyard of Love" has become it's own destination for guests, brunches, weddings, receptions and rehearsals. Cafe Hibiscus on site. Facebook (three separate pages) and Company Website for further info. Can't wait to meet you!
Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Stephanie Vantassell for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
People enjoy having a relaxing oasis that reminds them of the olden days.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
I love EVERYTHING! We are best known for our breakfasts, our daily BE word, and our Old Florida style.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
Scenery -- we are surrounded by amazing waters, nature, dunes, bike paths, art, music and food.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
This one is hard. I think the best compliment is when people say they feel like they were at their Grandmas house.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
If I tell you, it's not a secret! No, I'd say Grayton Beach is an undiscovered little jewel. We are hidden between two major cities, and have the BEST beaches there are.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
They'd eat at The Red Bar, shop the Saturday Farmers Market in Seaside, bike ride through the town, see a movie at our Baytowne Movie Theater, soak up the sun at our beach, and eat breakfast at our Cafe.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
EVERYTHING! Two bars, restaurants, a pizza place, general store, salon, Starbucks, the beach, the lakes, steak house right next door, bike rentals, art shops, antique stores.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
ANOTHER hard one. I'd say Borago Italian, The Red Bar, Nick's Seafood and Stinky's Fish Camp. Fancy places like 30ACafe and TheVue are pretttty good.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?
Sowal.com is the go to spot for our area. (Stands for south walton.com) .

12 -- this includes 2 one bedroom apartments and 1 stand alone cottage.
