Innkeepers Pat and Tom McCants purchased this beautiful 1903 Queen Anne home in 2006. As fate would have it, they had been staying at a local bed and breakfast when they decided owning and running their very own bed and breakfast would be a fantastic way for them to share their love of hospitality and Gainesville with visitors and locals alike!
Whether you are coming to see the University of Florida Gators play or just enjoy a relaxing weekend exporing beautiful Gainesville, the Camellia Rose Inn has something for everyone! We offer six spacious rooms, all with private baths and amenities. We also feature handicapped accesibility in the Lady Clare room, and for those travelling with pets, our private and detached Spat's HIdeaway cottage is perfect for for your furry companion to accompany you. We also welcome children 12 and over to stay. We also offer complimentary WiFi internet available in all guest rooms.

Breakfast is a time to fuel up for the day ahead, so we make sure you never leave hungry. Enjoy a full, three course breakfast, featuring our savory breakfast entress like Chicken Sausage Breakfast Casserole, Cream Cheese Scrambled Eggs.
Other breakfast fare includes:

- Canadian bacon and peppered bacon
- fresh fruit
- biscuits and sausage gravy
- cheesy garlic grits
And of course, we have plenty of coffee and tea varieties to start your day right!
After an adventure filled day of sightseeing and cheering on the Gators, enjoy fresh baked goodies at the inn. We offer a happy hour with complimentary beverages and snacks, or simply enjoy the sunset from the wrap-around porch as you plan your adventures for the next day.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn? Our Inn is over one hundred years old, but we have all modern bathrooms, so we have a beautiful historic Inn with modern amenities.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Gainesville’s mantra is “where nature and culture meet”. You can kayak the Santa Fe River or see Elton John at the UF Performing Arts Center.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? " Your Inn is so clean and so beautifully decorated, your beds are amazing and so are your sheets..."
What’s the best kept secret about the area? No Comment
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? Four days to spend:
Day one: Florida History Museum, Harn Art museum and the Butterfly rainforest.
Day two: Visit the springs: Poe Springs, Ginnie Spring, and Ichitucknee Springs.
Day three: Kayak or Canoe down the Santa Fe River.
Day Four: Sit on our beautiful wrap around porches and drink in the serenity of doing nothing (then walk downtown for dinner at one of the 24+ restaurants and take in a play at the Hippodrome State Theater.Is there anything within walking distance of your inn? Hippodrome State Theater, 24+ restaurants, 3 coffee shops, cup cake factory, shops and parks
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area? We have several favorite restaurants. Most of the downtown restaurants are individually owned restaurants; we only have two or three chains.

How many rooms does your inn have? We have six rooms in the main house, a private cottage and a 1200 sq. ft. fully furnished apartment for longer stays.
Do you accept pets? We accept pets in the cottage and the apartment.
