  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Robin Floyd for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Guests stay at our inn due to our very affordable options and our great location.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

The inn is well located, within an easy walking distance to the metro and great restaurants, bookshops, cafes, etc. We offer a very homely feel and superb breakfast cooked to your requirements. I love it that the Inn is old but with its age comes the warmth and charm of an urban bed & breakfast.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

DC is a place to see and be seen! There is so much to see in DC. The most famous house in the world, the White House is a must on visitors' itineraries. From the museums, monuments, and the Capitol Building there is plenty to soak up. The best news yet, all Smithsonian museums and monuments are free.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

A guest who had stayed on a weekly basis at the Inn for 6 straight years.. that’s the best compliment we received about the Inn.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

The Well Dressed Burrito take out restaurant has been dubbed the "well hidden burrito" for its near-secretive locale in an alley between 19th and 20th, and M and N streets NW. It is very much a hole-in-the-wall but it’s far from a dive. It is easy to miss, but worthwhile finding.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

I would recommend the top secret spots like the Cathedral Garden of the National Cathedral and the Newseum where they can get great view of the Capitol Dome from their Pennsylvania Avenue Terrace, the Old Post Office Pavilion which known as the second tallest structure in D.C., the Tudor Place which was once the home of George Washington’s granddaughter, Martha Custis. I would also recommend a Bike Tour, Segway Tour or Trolley Tour. However, the best way to see the neighborhood is by foot.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

We are half a block from Dupont Circle, which is the heart of DC. It has everything you need...a metro stop, restaurants, coffee shops, retail shops, nice people, great people watching, easy access to downtown, Georgetown, Cleveland Park, Logan Circle (walking, bus or metro), convenience stores, parks, dog friendly, etc.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

My favorite restaurant is Mai Thai which is a block away from the inn. Their noodle dishes and the appetizers we had were really delicious. I also love Raku Restaurant. Their bento boxes are excellent choices if you dare venture outside of normal sushi fare.

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

Fodor Travel Guide is an excellent guide book/website they can reference to.

How many rooms does your inn have?

    We have 8 rooms.

    Do you accept pets?

The Inn at Dupont Circle, South does not allow pets.

  • The Solarium

The solarium provides a beautiful place to enjoy a delicious breakfast and a cup of coffee. The room is invaded with brilliant sunlight and a relaxing atmosphere. Looking out you can marvel over the delicately manicured garden. Don't worry about the weather this solarioum is fully enclosed and even heated in the winter. This beautiful area of the inn is sure to refresh even the most weary of travelers.
