Carriage House on Capitol Hill

This home offers four guest rooms, all located on the second floor of the house and accessed by a grand spiral staircase. Each room is furnished with a queen-size bed and includes a private bath with large walk-in shower. Rooms include complimentary wireless Internet access, and TV with cable. A relaxed, continental style breakfast is available each morning from 7:30-9:30. Enjoy fresh coffee, select teas, local pastries, tasty cereals, seasonal fruit and a choice of juice. Guests are welcome to dine at the large kitchen island or - when the weather is right - in the private courtyard.

All four guest rooms have the same amenities, so in order to best accommodate guests' varied schedules, we cannot guarantee a specific room. However, if staying in a particular room is important to you, we will make every effort to place you accordingly. Just please let us know of your preference when you make your reservation.

Regretfully, children cannot be accommodated at the Carriage House itself; however, just across the courtyard, a separate facility - "The Coach House" can

The Coach House offers guests and their families clean, comfortable accommodations in an exceptionally well located and historic area of Washington, DC. This self contained, two-story unit is a renovated horse and buggy storage house, which dates from the early twentieth century. Today, the unit features a living room, dining area, kitchenette and half bath on the first floor, and two bedrooms and a full bath on the second.

Comfortable Accommodations

The first floor of the unit features the living room, with a lovely gas fireplace, and a twin-size sleeper sofa that allows some flexibility in sleeping arrangements. Also on the first floor are the dining area, a half bath, and the kitchenette, which has a refrigerator, microwave, and that all-important coffee maker. There's an apartment-size washer/dryer for guest's use as well. The two bedrooms are on the second floor, which is accessed by a spiral staircase. The front bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, and overlooks Garfield Park. The second bedroom has a bunk system with a double-size bed below a twin-size bunk. There is a full bath located between the two bedrooms. In most cases, occupancy is limited to five, unless there are small children in the party.

Excellent Location

The Coach House is within walking distance of the East side of the National Mall, near the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, and Air and Space Museum. The offices for members of the House of Representatives are also within walking distance, about 10-12 minutes. The Metro (Washington's subway) is four blocks from the Coach House, at the Capitol South station, where you can catch the Blue or Orange lines. The Metro makes travel to the Smithsonian Castle, Holocaust Museum, Natural History and American History Museums, George Washington University and Georgetown a snap.

Rates: $225-300 for 2 persons. Rates vary by season and the number of guests in your party. A 3 night minimum stay is required at all times. 10% discount offer for stays of 7 nights or more.

• When you make an advanced reservation, we require a non refundable deposit of $50 per room.
• A deposit of $100 is required if you are reserving an apartment for 2 weeks or more.
• We require the balance for your entire stay two weeks prior to your arrival day.
• If your reservation is made less than 2 weeks in advance, payment in full is required at the time of reservation.
• All cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to your arrival.
• Cancellations made within two weeks will result in a refund only if the room(s) are re-rented.
• Rates do not include 14.5% lodging taxes and a flat $10 reservation fee.
