Proximity to the University of Connecticut and Eastern Connecticut State University (about 3-4 miles for each) brings to guests many activities including, but not limited to, the following: museums, concerts, summer theater, UCONN ice cream and UCONN basketball! Aside from the attractions of the two universities, "The Quiet Corner" has much to offer those in search of a change of pace.

    Guest Rooms/Rates
    Golding Room - $145
Edmund Golding, the second owner of The Fitch House, would have appreciated the room given his name. The room features a Queen canopy bed, working fireplace and Currier & Ives prints on the wall; and it would be comparable to the décor of the room when he, a wealthy silk manufacturer, lived there. 20th century improvements include TV, A/C, a dressing room, a large private bath with shower and three closets!
    Fitch Room - $125
The architect, Edwin Fitch, and his wife lived in this room from 1836 to 1848. The room, now with Queen fourposter bed, TV, A/C, and private bath with shower, is one of the sunniest rooms in the B and B. It overlooks the garden and is decorated with Winslow Homer prints.
    Adams Room - $125
The Adams Room is named after Edwin Fitch’s wife, Alice Adams, who was the inspiration for the building of the house in 1836. The room contains a lovely double fourposter as well as one twin bed, TV and private bath with shower. Its most distinguishing characteristics are the girlhood portraits of the innkeeper and her sister who grew up in The Fitch House and the pale blue reproduction French wallpaper (circa 1795).
