A Cardinal House

We offer you three comfortable private rooms each with it's own theme. All rooms have seasonal air conditioning, T. V. and private or semi-private baths. A Cardinal House is not suitable for children or pets. Our family cat, Midnight, is in residence.  For the safety and comfort of our guests, there is no smoking in the buildings or on the veranda.

The Ashley Suite
$225.00 - $245.00 per night, plus appropriate tax
First floor romance! Large room with sitting area, queen size bed, private bath with a two-person Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Unique barrel ceiling complements the antiques and period reproductions. Only guest room on the first floor, apart from other rooms for complete privacy. Large private bathroom with a two-person Jacuzzi tub and separate shower is a relaxing way to unwind. Comfortable sitting area complete with antique writing desk, TV and VCR completes this spacious area.  Couples staying in the Ashley Suite have the sole use of the Library with the gas log fireplace and cable TV, VCR and DVD with the extended movie channel and our DVD movie library.

The Rose Room
$165.00 - $185.00 per night, plus appropriate tax
Second Floor solitude! Situated on the second floor in the 1830 section of the Inn with views of the back lawn. Queen size cannonball bed dominates this sunny room with soothing earth tones of muted green and beige.  A large Belgium area rug in green tones complements the highly polished original hardwood floors. An attractive reproduction Hitchcock writing desk affords the opportunity to jot down memories of your special days at the Inn. A large bathroom with a tub/shower is across a small hall. This room has ample counter space. A separate vanity desk and Oriental style area rug in pink and green tones complement this relaxed setting.  Hair dryer is provided and ironing board and iron are available upon request.

The Belle Room
$135.00 - $155.00 per night, plus appropriate tax
A cozy corner room on the second floor in the front part of the house overlooking historic Main Street.  An antique metal full-size bed dominates this room. A comfortable winged-back chair and cable T. V. complete this relaxed setting.  This room shares a large bathroom with a tub-shower down the hall. All of the guest rooms have comfortable robes and hair dryers.

Inn Policies and Other Information

• A full breakfast is included in the room rate and is served by candlelight in the cozy dining room or on the fireplaced veranda.  Check-in time is 3:00-5:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM.
• Bed and Breakfast Reservations: A deposit equal to one night's lodging is required at time of making a reservation.  Visa or MasterCard may be used for the deposit. Cash, money order or personal checks are also accepted for payment of the balance with credit card information as a guarantee.
• Rooms are available by reservation only. There is no minimum stay requirement.  During weddings or other events rooms are available only to the wedding party and their guests.
• Room rates are based on double occupancy. There are no accommodations for additional guests in any of the rooms. Room rates include a full breakfast served by candlelight in the dining room or on the veranda.  All room rates are subject to a 12% Connecticut Room Tax.
• Cancellation Policy:  If for some reason you must cancel a reservation we request 14 days notice.  Your deposit (less a 20% processing fee) will be refunded only if we are able to re-book the entire length of your reservation.  There is no refund for no-shows or early departure.  There is no refund for cancellation due to inclement winter weather.  This is New England and it snows here!
• Normal check-in time is between 3 and 5PM and check-out time is 11:00AM. It is not a problem if you are going to be here any earlier or later, however, please call us so that we can make appropriate arrangements for your arrival.
• We maintain a full NO SMOKING policy. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the inn or on the porches or veranda.  Evidence of smoking or smoke odor in the rooms will result in a cleaning fee of $250.00 charged to your credit card.
• A Cardinal House is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
• We maintain a NO PET policy. Our black, short-hair cat, Midnight, is in residence and prefers that you leave your animals at home.
