    Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

    Down time, vacation time. A wonderful get away from their busy lifestyles. We are only an hour north of Denver in a small and charming town.

    What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

    Our breakfasts are outstanding! We cook to order and serve a full breakfast. We are previous owners of two restaurants. The uniqueness is the historic Victorian Queen Anne architecture. We have kept the inn historically correct, as well as the inn's interiors, yet comfortable. It is lovely yet cozy and welcoming.

    If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    Use it as home base to discover Northern Colorado. We are centrally located. Close to many interesting excursions. To enjoy the feel of our small town, visit family, attend weddings, graduations.

    What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

    The attention to detail from the furnishings in the public areas, to the guests rooms, and the private courtyard that is beautifully landscaped and feels like a fine resort.

    What’s the best kept secret about the area?

    Northern Colorado is laid back, and always has some event in store. Windsor has a fantastic Fourth of July Fireworks show with the fireworks glowing over the lake. Many fun activities are held at the lake front during the day. Labor Day week end Windsor celebrates Harvest Festival, complete with a parade, activities at the lake, food and a fireworks show in the evening.

    If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

    The Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, are just an hour to the West. City of Fort Collins is about 15 minutes away to the West. Fort Collins always has many throughout the year. A micro-brew fest, food and wine fest. There is a charming downtown area with shopping, and restaurants. The Poudre Canyon is a lovely drive. City of Greeley is 15 minutes to the East. Greeley is famous for the annual Greeley Stampede and Rodeo. The City of Loveland is also close by with shopping, movie theatres, restaurants, and is the gateway to The Rocky Mountain National Park. Loveland is also famous for its annual Art and Sculpture Show. Magnificent bronze sculptures, Western art. The show attracts people from all over the United States. Cheyenne Wyoming is just 40 miles to the North, famous for the Cheyenne Frontier Days and Rodeo and is a taste of the old West.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    Windsor Lake is only two blocks away. There is a 2.5 mile walking biking path around the lake. There is also fishing and water sports at the lake. Swimming, boating, paddle boating, kayaking, water skiing, and canoeing. Also, restaurants are within walking distance and just minutes away on Main Street.

    What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

    There are several favorites for our guests, Chimney Park Bistro is a proven winner. Owner and Chef Jason has been voted one of the ten best chefs in the State of Colorado. We also have an authentic Hawaiian Restaurant just a block away. Excellent food. There are several excellent Mexican, and Asian restaurants as well.

    Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

    I would imagine Northern Colorado would provide many other alternatives besides what I have mentioned.

    How many rooms does your inn have?

    We have four beautiful guest rooms, all with private baths. We are small jewel of an inn. We pride ourselves in going the extra mile for our guests. We are all about service.

    Do you accept pets?

    We do not accept pets. We have a wonderful pet motel very close by that we always suggest. We kennel our own dog there. Happy Trails Pet Spa in Loveland. It hardly feels like a kennel. It is spotless and well run by caring people. Less than 5 miles away.

    There are many hotels in Fort Collins, but there is nothing quite as quaint and inviting as the Porter House Bed & Breakfast in Windsor, which is a mere 10 minutes from Fort Collins. Windsor has a number of darling gift shops, fine dining and casual restaurants, too many golf courses to count, and majestic views of the Rocky Mountains.

    Fort Collins is located only 14 miles to the northwest of Windsor. Visit its "Old Town" for wonderful quaint shops and many fine restaurants. Colorado State University is famous for its Agriculture and Veterinarian Schools located on College Avenue. The Lincoln Center hosts many concerts, exhibits, and "speakers of the day". Fort Collins is also a mecca of micro breweries, which offer tours, tastings, and have restaurants incorporated within them. Stroll through the Anheuser Busch Gardens, see the magnificent Clydesdale horses, and enjoy a free tour of this notable brewery.

    To the southeast of Windsor is Greeley, home of the university of Northern Colorado, and the renown Greeley Symphony. Centennial Village brings area history to life for the public.

    Loveland, nicknamed The Sweetheart City, is a community known for its love affair with the arts. Benson Park Sculpture Garden holds one of the largest public collections of bronze sculptures in the country.
