Idaho Springs has a population of 1,893 and is the largest town in Clear Creek County, Colorado. But the city where the Gold Rush began is getting ready for its true spectacle: The 150th Gold Rush Anniversary. It will be a year-long celebration of the discovery that brought the Gold Rush to the Rocky Mountains. Additionally, there are many historical as well as recreational activities to enjoy in Idaho Springs and Clear Creek County. The city's main points of interest include the Argo Tunnel, Gold Mill and Museum; Statue of cartoon character Steve Canyon; Phoenix Gold Mine and Edgar Experimental Mine (complete with underground tours); and the Indian Hot Springs. Idaho Springs also has many dining options featuring a variety of cuisines such as Tommy Knockers Brewery & Pub, Picci's Pizzeria & Bakery, Inc, Cafe' Aimee, MB Deli, Mangia Casual Italian, Hopscotch Desserts, and Cherry Blossom Asian Cuisine.
