Cripple Creek Bed and Breakfasts
Cripple Creek is located on the southwest slopes of Pikes Peak in the Colorado Rockies. It doesn't matter what time of the year you come and stay at a Cripple Creek bed and breakfast as this city boasts two festivals a year: one in the summer and one in the fall. They offer something for everyone--from food contests to ice sculpting to donkey races. If you visit the town at Christmas time, be sure to check out Christmas in the Mountains, another annual community event. It includes a Christmas parade, Christmas tree decorating, a shopping bazaar, hot chocolate with chestnuts roasting over an open fire, and more. The Butte Opera House (formerly known as the Butte Concert and Beer Hall) opened in 1896 and is still going strong. They put on shows here, including melodrama, comedies, and Shakespearean plays. Relive the days of the Wild, Wild West by visiting the Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum. The original cells are still intact to this day, so visitors can see what jail was really like in the olden days. Cripple Creek B&Bs and inns are accommodating and so are their restaurants! Stop in at the Silver Mine Coffeehouse for a great cup of joe and some acoustic guitar music. Buffalo Billy's Steakhouse has been voted the best place to eat here every year since it opened. It has a hunting lodge atmosphere and steak and seafood can be found on the menu everyday. It's so popular that reservations are recommended.
