Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Linda for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
Travelers stay with us due to the tremendous value we offer them. There are many things that are included in their stay like home cooked breakfast, happy hour, and access to over 500 movies. All of our rooms have fireplaces and guests are always commenting on the cleanliness and charm of our inn. We are quite proud to be listed as TripAdvisor's #1 Bed & Breakfast in the South Lake Tahoe area.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
We are best known for our outstanding customer service. We live on the property and love to interact with our guests. We greet them when they arrive, show them their room, cook them breakfast, and chat with them during happy hour. We enjoy the relationships that we build with our guests! Our motto is "Let us spoil you, we're good at it." We offer a very unique personal experience that our guests love. We love the unique quality of our rooms and how each one is decorated differently. Each one has a fireplace and offers a cozy cabin atmosphere with Old Tahoe retro/vintage feel.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
The lake of course! Depending on the time of year, the lake has so much to offer. In the winter travelers enjoy skiing at several world renowned ski resorts. In the warmer months, the lake itself is the draw. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful sight to see. It has pristine, clear water with absolutely breathtaking views. It's often said that Emerald Bay is the most photographed sight in America! You simply cannot describe the beauty, you must see it for yourself. We also have a sailboat to take our guests out on!
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
Our guests are so lovely and are always sharing kind words with us. We have many great reviews online as well. However I must say that it's quite heart warming when guests tell us that they felt as if they were staying in our home, as that is exactly what we are striving for!
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Many people don't realize that Lake Tahoe is actually a year round destination. This area is busy all the time. There are lots of activities for any season of the year.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
For travelers staying more than a weekend we recommend that they take The Tahoe Queen paddleboat to Emerald Bay. It's a wonderful tour and runs any time of the year. Guests can drive all the way around lake, which is 72 miles in total. There are several fun things to stop and do along the way; several photo spots, plenty of shopping, etc. This trip can usually be accomplished in 3-4 hours. We also suggest a trip to The Heavenly Village, full of great shops, delicious restaurants, and complete with the gondola which you can ride for the views in the summer and for skiing in the winter.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
From our inn you can walk to lake, the marina that houses The Tahoe Queen, several restaurants and shops, and even the ski resorts. However, for those wishing to go skiing, there is a shuttle that picks up in front of our inn. Really, a guest here doesn't really need a car!
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
Cafe Fiore is a special, tiny place with only 7 or 8 tables. The food is amazing, the service is wonderful, and while it can be hard to get into, it's completely worth trying!Nepheles - They have a great chef and a wonderful bar. The restaurant is frequented by both locals and tourists. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is fun and upbeat. The people that work there are very friendly! Both of these restaurants are within walking distance of our inn and are located right next to each other.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?
Our website has ton of information on it. Tahoesouth.com is also a great resource where you can find a listing of events, calendars, etc.
How many rooms does your inn have?
We have 12 rooms.
Do you accept pets?
We do have some rooms that are dog friendly. We also have some rooms that have never had pets in them, which works well for those guests who may have allergies.
