Named for the curtain tiebacks crafted in the Cape Cod town of Sandwich, this room displays a large collection of the Victorian-era gems. $379

A tribute to the surrounding Sonoma woods, the outdoors comes alive in this glorious room. A handcrafted birch-wood frame engulfs the queen bed. Elk-antler table lamps and birch-tree lamps (complete with birdhouses!) light the sitting area and fireplace. Fishing nets and rods hang on display near the spa tub for two. An antique mountaineer's backpack and a watercolor of aspens with their spring foliage complete the rugged décor. A giraffe peers out from the floor-to-ceiling wall mural and African drums beckon for a beat from the corner near the spa tub for two. Quilt Room

With its bold golden walls and vibrant quilts, this fun room is one of the Inn's most colorful rooms. Whimsical and bright, it offers a spa tub for two and great garden views out the large picture window. Floor lamps in the form of folk-art characters stand sentry on each side of the gas fireplace. A giraffe painting hangs over the sitting area, and big-bellied ceramic friars are now lamps on each side of the queen pine bed. A folk-art rocking cow toy and a five-foot pair of scissors "formerly a tailor's trade sign"  complete the quirky setting. $299

Kitchen Cupboard

Well stocked with kitchen gadgets, this chef's fantasy room might just inspire your own gourmet tendencies. Brass cooking utensils hang on display between the queen bed and the spa tub for two. Vibrant red walls match the vegetable-print Hermes scarf framed above the fireplace. Near the sitting area, a shadow box exhibits a collection of bone-handled carving sets. Other antique kitchen accessories include a toaster, a waffle iron, an electric marshmallow toaster, and an oversized cheese grater. $339

Decorated in shades of blue with red and white accents, this colorful room features several Maxfield Parrish landscape prints. Behind the king bed hangs a 1908 friendship quilt handcrafted in Ohio. Each spoke of its pinwheel pattern carries the signature of one of its sponsors. Over the fireplace and sitting area a silhouette print evokes thoughts of home and hearth. $339

Magical dreams take flight when you stay in this festival of a room. A colorful "big top" drapes over the king bed dressed with handmade circus-print pillows. A carnival barker's jacket hangs above the fireplace and sitting area, while two folk-art clown dolls flop on the mantle piece. Mounted above the spa tub for two is a huge antique poster featuring the feats of the famous high-wire act — the Flying Valenti brothers. A patio door leads to a deck where imaginations have been known to run wild. $339

Rich green walls provide a soothing backdrop to this inviting first-floor room. Eyelet bed hangings and an 1880s appliquéd quilt adorn the romantic queen canopy bed. Out the window, our English Cottage garden with its bubbling fountain provides a picture-perfect view. Original watercolors of prickly pear cacti and pink roses hang near the cozy sitting area with its corner potbellied stove. $239

Ivory Room

Filled with delicate and hand-carved items, this sunny room features a marvelous collection of 19th-century ivory miniatures from Japan. Over the king bed hangs a pair of hand-colored fish prints with intricately carved frames. The sitting area's patchwork swivel chairs can face the brick fireplace or the views to the south and the patio gardens below. The bathroom wall displays an unusual photograph made by passing light through a flower onto photographic paper. $229

In praise of local Sonoma vineyards, this room celebrates all that is wine. An 1880s grape-and-vine quilt graces the wall above the king bed and an early 20th-century grape-gathering basket hangs over the spa tub for two. On the opposite wall, near the fireplace, a shadow box displays a collection of antique corkscrews. Hovering over the entrance and sitting area is a special find: a 1920s prohibition still. $339

Featuring a wood-burning fireplace, a four-poster queen canopy bed, and a two-person shower, this dreamy room is a great choice for a honeymoon or an ongoing romance. A large private deck with two lounge chairs overlooks the Inn's patio gardens and the redwood forest beyond. Summer Room

Just stepping into this bright, airy room brings visions of long days and lemonade. Wicker furniture and checkered chairs make it easy to while away the hours in front of the fireplace or on the private deck. A blue and white quilt from the 1940s lies on a king bed framed by an antique iron headboard. Green window shutters enclose a painting of a distant harbor, and a collection of flower frogs adorn the wall above the spa tub for two. Antique golf clubs, English folk-art fishing plates, and an old camping canteen harken back to summer days gone by. $339

Folk Art Room

An homage to creative simplicity, this room presents some of the Inn's finest folk-art pieces. A set of hand-cast croquet wickets hang over the fireplace and sitting area. Hand painted to resemble horse racing jockeys, the wickets seem in the midst of a match! Above the spa tub for two is an exceptional piece of early redwood art - a carving once used as a fishmonger's trade sign. A handmade humpty-dumpty doll rests in a miniature chair next to the queen pine bed. Above the bed is a stunning red and white 1889 child's crib quilt. $339

Sonoma Cottage

This comfortable two-bedroom vacation house has all the charm of a room at the Inn — and at 2,200 square feet, all the space of a family home. Located just 38 feet from the Inn, the cottage is both private and convenient. A fully furnished living room offers 12-foot ceilings, a fireplace, two easy chairs, and two sofas — one of which unfolds to sleep two. A half-level up is a dining room for dinners with friends or serious strategy meetings. The antique pine table and English Windsor chairs accommodate 12. A fully equipped kitchen has all the amenities for a simple dinner or a catered event. Upstairs is the Captain's Quarters bedroom decorated with a nautical flair — a wooden ship's ladder, a fo'c'sle mast, built-in armoires, tillers and rudders of a sailing dinghy, and a rowboat stern with the moniker "Shu–Fly." Downstairs is the Game Room, featuring antique game boards and a larger-than-life Monopoly-board ceiling border. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, spa tub for two, king bed, cultured-marble vanity, and fireplace. $679

Sugar Room

The French doors of this classic room open to the English Cottage garden beyond. Overstuffed easy chairs sit in front of the fireplace and antique horse-hunting prints hang over the luxurious king bed. A corner shelf displays pressed-pattern glass bowls made for the coarse sugar of the late 1800s. This first-floor room accommodates the physically challenged with a roll-in shower, a hand-held shower head, and a fold-down shower bench. $259

    • Reservations: To confirm your reservation, an advanced deposit of one night's room and tax is required at time of booking.
    • Credit Cards: Visa and MasterCard accepted. Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer(SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
    • Cancellations: Due to our small size, cancellations affect us greatly. To cancel a reservation, please notify us at least 10 days prior to arrival to receive a credit (minus a $40 processing fee). Cancellations of 10 days or less receive a credit only if the room is rebooked. Early departures are considered a cancellation. All cancellations must be made by phone; you will receive a cancellation number at that time.
    • Arrival: Check-in time is from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Please call in advance to make other arrangements.
    • Departure: Check-out time is 12:00 noon.
    • Cuisine: Room rate includes full breakfast, afternoon wine and cheese, coffee/tea, and homemade cookies. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate you.
    • Children: Please call Innkeeper for information.
    • Smoking Policy: The Inn is a non-smoking facility.
    • Pets: Well-behaved, housebroken dogs are permitted in the Sonoma Cottage and in designated Courtyard Rooms. Dogs must be quiet and well-mannered. A $40/pet/night fee applies.
    • For the comfort of all of our guests, we ask that you please observe our Pet Policies:
    • Pets should not be left alone in the room at any time or be left unattended while on the property.
    • While in the public areas of the Inn, pets must be on a leash. We ask that you do not bring your pet into the living room or the dining room. Pets are welcome in the courtyard or on the verandah.
    • Pets are not allowed on the furniture in the guest room or in the public areas. If your pet does sleep on the bed with you, ask us for a sheet to put over the duvet cover.
    • If your pet should have an accident on the rug, let us know as soon as convenient so that we can properly clean the area.
