All of the above, plus a large downstairs living room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, with full-sized appliances and dishwasher. The living room has a TV/DVD/VCR, and a folding double Futon couch that sleeps one or two. This option accommodates up to four people for this rate.

Pomo has gorgeous vaulted ceilings and a wonderfully light and airy feel. With a private fenced yard and hot tub, Pomo Cottage is perfect guests traveling with dogs or kids. Pomo has a private bedroom with King feather bed and down comforter, large living room/kitchen area with folding Queen futon, Vermont Casting woodburning stove and fully equipped kitchen.

Pomo is one of our historic buildings and while it has been completely modernised and upgraded in 2006 their is some settling that causes a slight slant in the cottage. Most guests find this part of Pomo's charm but we have several newer buildings for guests that don't appreciate a historic experience.

• Rates are for two people (plus 11% county tax).
• Each additional person over two, add $15 per night; children under 12 stay free.
• Rollaway or crib usage fee $10.
• Two night minimum on weekends and summer months. Three or four nights on holiday weekends. Exceptions possible if booking pattern warrants.
• Check-in is from 3 to 8 p.m. If you need to check in later please let us know in advance so that we can make arrangements for your arrival.
• Check-out time is 11 a.m. Guests not vacating units by 11 AM, without Innkeeper permission, will be charged a late check out fee equal to one nights lodging.
• Families are welcome. For the well being of your children and the comfort of our other guests, we request that children be supervised at all times.
• A one night deposit is required to secure your room. We accept Visa, Discover, American Express or Mastercard. If your reservation is made at least 14 days in advance you may secure your reservations by check. Reservations will be held 5 days pending receipt of your check.
• If it is necessary to cancel any nights you will be charged a $25 administrative fee. For cancellations with less than 14 days' notice or early departure, you will be charged the full room rate unless we are able to re-book the room. Last minute cancellations and early departures due to inclement weather are not refundable. There is a 30 day cancellation policy for Sea Coud and Shangri-La Cliffside Cottages.
• Pets are welcome - click here for more information.
• We are a Non-Smoking inn. You may smoke on cottage decks or the lower grounds. Guests smoking in rooms will be charged a minimum of $100 for cleaning and repair. The actual charge will include all actual costs plus any lost income.
• Incense burning is not allowed in guest units. The Inn will provide approved dripless candles to guests if requested. Burning of other candles in rooms is not allowed. Guests will be charged for damages or excessive cleaning caused by candle or incense burning.
• Guests will be charged a minimum of $25 for excessive cleaning, damages to or breakage of Inn property. Expenses will be based upon actual documented expenses.

We invite you to make your dream wedding come true at The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek on the Mendocino Coast. We specialize in outdoor weddings and events with our eight acres of extensive grounds proviiding the perfect setting amidst Cypress groves, lush meadows and beautiful flower gardens. Our unique luxury acomodations provide you with many options to create your one of a kind romantic ceremony and memorable event surrounded by the breathtaking majesty of the Mendocino Coast.

The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek hosts formal and casual weddings and events with up to 150 people and a maximum of 55 people lodging in our accomodations through a combination of king, queen, doubles and extra beds. Additionally, there are over 130 additional beds in hotels and inns located within a mile of our location.

Elope at the Inn...

The coast is a great place to elope and we invite those desiring a simple ceremony or celebration to join us at the Inn and stay with us to celebrate your union. We can stage a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the upper meadow, at one of our private cottages or cliffside cottages. Our staff will help you arrange for a minister, cake, champagne toast, and aphotographer. We require a two night stay minimum and a fee of $1,000 which includes coordinator fees, minister fees, a small bridal bouquet, a small cake and champagne.

We want your special event to be a moment to remember. From simple to elaborate, our staff will assist you with planning needs from the start such as coordinating the officiate, music, photographer, videographer, florist, cake, catering, decorations, tent arrangements and more. We have access to discounted pricing with vendors and our local knowledge will provide you with high quality services that meet your budget. Our professional event coordinator will take care of the details so you don't have to worry and can simply enjoy your event and your guests. Once you have selected your vendors, the Inn will provide management of the vendors and be the single point of contact in coordination to ensure the details are managed to make your event a success.

If your guest list exceeds eighteen people, all sixteen rooms at the Inn must be rented for a total accommodation fee of $9,300. This fee includes a two night stay at the Inn for up to 40 people based on double occupancy and includes gratuity and taxes. Additional guests up to 55 can be added at a cost of $15 per person. Our off site Cliffside cottages (if available) can be added for an additional per night fee of $750. Your guests will enjoy our full breakfast every morning, fresh baked goods and coffee available throughout the day as well as a wine hour in the evening. Our hot tub is located at the top of the property making it a popular spot to relax in the afternoon taking in the sunset views over the Pacific.

All weddings regardless of size require coordination and detail management. When your event is outside and not located near where you live, those details can become overwhelming. We require you utilize our event coordination services for all wedding events staged on our property. We will act as your personal assistant making sure all the fine details and touches are in place – giving you the freedom to relax and enjoy your special day. Our consultation services only apply to coordination activities on our property. You are responsible for all activities and events hosted off site.

Large meadow tent site is located next to our redwood and pine tree grove offering 180 degree Panoramic Ocean Views. Total fees include a beautifully appointed tent reception area with all tables, chairs, linens, china, dance floor, sound system, lights, kitchen tent, custom décor package and wedding coordination services.

If you are looking to be married against the dramatic backdrop of a stunning sunset on the Pacific Ocean, our Cliffside Meadow Tent Site is the best location on the Mendocino Coast. This large meadow tent site is located 3 miles south of the Inn on a quiet private road that overlooks gorgeous white water ocean views with sunsets that will take your breath away. Our Cliffside Meadow Tent Site offers the same amenities, services and fees as listed on our Meadow Tent Site Fee Schedule.

A stay at the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek will be a vacation your pet will appreciate. We have a pet welcome basket full of items to ensure a comfotable stay for your pet and a Frisbee waiting for you upon arrival. Our meadow and forest creek trails provides great room for your pet to enjoy off leash exploration. Take a short 3 minute walk (approximately 150 yards) to the private beach at Buckhorn Cove, where your dog can play off the leash - be sure to bring your Inn at Schoolhouse Creek Frisbee with you when you go! Upon return, we have a pet bath at the Inn for your convenience.

Mendocino’s scenic coast and beautiful state parks provide a great place for you to explore with your pet. There are many parks and beaches near by that your pet is sure to enjoy. Take a trip to Mendocino Headlands State Park, Friendship Park or Russian Gulch State Park where your pets are welcome, but must remain on leash.

Your pets are our guests too and we'll strive to make them feel like they are on vacation as well! All of our rooms at the Inn accept pets. There is a pet fee added to your room fee to cover the additional costs in cleaning. We deep clean and ionize each room after a pet has been in it to insure the highest standards of cleanliness for all our guests.

There is a one time $50 fee for the 1st pet $25 for a 2nd pet. This is a per stay (not per night fee) and is not refundable. It covers the costs of deep cleaning a room after a pet stay including carpet shampooing and ionization to remove any allergens. It also covers the cost of in room amenities including pet food and water dishes; blankets; beach towels and litter pick up bags. There is a maximum of two pets per unit unless special permission by management is granted . Guests keeping pets in units without approval will be charged $100 per night plus the cost to repair any damages that occur.

For the enjoyment and safety of all guests, your pet must be under your control at all times. We ask that you acknowledge and agree to the following requirements for guests with pets staying at the Inn:

• My pet is not aggressive, is well domesticated, and socializes well with people and other animals.
• My pet has current vaccinations and is free of ticks or fleas.
• My pet will be with me and under my control at all times and I will remove my pet from the room during Housekeeping service.
• If I leave my pet unattended in the room I will be responsible for all damage or disturbance caused. I agree to pay the Inn any expenses incurred because of disturbance caused to another guest by my pet (i.e. barking, whining).
• I will clean up after my pet and dispose of the waste in the designated receptacles provided on the grounds of the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek.
• I will immediately notify the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek of any pet “accidentsâ€Â and request special cleaning services.
• If my pet is wet or dirty, I will use the towels provided to clean my pet before entering the room.
• I will use the sheets provided to cover the bed and any other furniture in the room. I will not allow my pet on the furniture if wet.
• If my pet becomes objectionable to any person at the Inn, and a mutually acceptable resolution cannot be met, I agree to promptly remove my pet from the premises.
• I understand that I will be assessed a pet fee for my stay. Additionally, I will assume financial responsibility for any damage caused by my pet during my stay.

Kids & Family Fun

The Mendocino Coast is a great location for families to vacation with numerous fun activities for kids and kids at heart. The Mendocino Coast if full of wonderful parks and beach areas where children can discover tide pools, shells, sea glass, sand crabs, star fish and other gems of the ocean.

Upon arrival, children are greeted with fresh baked cookies and an Inn at Schoolhouse Creek Frisbee for their enjoyment during their stay. When you arrive, ask our Innkeepers for additional family-friendly activities on the coast and they can direct you to the best spots for beaches, hiking or horseback riding along the beach. There are many activities detailed on the activities page. Here are a few of the many activities your family can enjoy.

At the Inn

Buckhorn Cove: Take a short walk down to the private beach at Buckhorn Cove just a ¼ mile from the Inn. Peer into tide pools, dance in the spray of blowholes, build sandcastles, chase the waves, and collect colored sea glass, shells and driftwood.

Games & Puzzles: The Inn has a lawn chess game with 2 foot tall pieces. At the Farmhouse we have many board games, puzzles and other fun activities. Take them back to your room or enjoy them in our parlor.

Movies: Cozy up by the fire and watch one of our family friendly movies in your room. Ask our Innkeepers for some popcorn to make it a real treat!

Outdoor Activities

State Parks: Discover our wonderful State Parks by bicycling, horseback riding or scuba diving for abalone. For those on foot, explore the creek and river canyons as well as the headlands and bluffs. Fly a kite: Bring your own or purchase a kite at the Village Toy Store and play with the wind in our meadows or on the beaches. We can almost always guarantee a breeze!

Seals & Sea lions: Check out the seals and sea lions visible from local beaches. Find out how many rookeries are in the area.

Canoes & Kayaks: Explore the Big River, Albion or Navarro by boat. Rent canoes and kayaks at Big River. Big River is one of the few natural running rivers left and has the longest unspoiled protected estuary in Northern California. Look for osprey, harbor seals, and great blue herons as you wind through salt marshes and make your way along forested canyons.

Biking: Be sure to bring your bikes! Whether on a mountain or road bike, there are a number of outstanding rides, starting right at our front door. Bike rentals are available in the area as well.

Horseback Riding: Go horseback riding along the beach at McKerricher State Park or other local trails. You can bring your own horse or rent one at Ricochet Ridge Ranch.

Whale Watching: Look for gray whales from December to March. Join a whale watching boat excursion from Noyo Harbor or take a Coast Flyers scenic flight from Little River and see whales from the air, as well as lighthouses, redwoods and the rugged coast line.
