Butterfield Bed and Breakfast Inn

Butterfield Bed and Breakfast is located in the small mountain hamlet of Julian, California, just 1 hour N.E. of San Diego and approximately 2 1/2 hours from the surrounding Los Angeles areas. Our 5-room inn is tucked under majestic cedar and oak trees on a serene ivy-covered hillside within the quaint historic district of Julian. Our 3-acres offer a beautiful view of the countryside and are within walking distance of the town.

When you arrive at Butterfield B&B, you are welcomed like an old friend. Enjoy the collection of antiques, but especially the aromas of homemade desserts and breakfast. We offer special amenities to our guests in the Back Porch Pantry; refrigerator with cream, filtered water, apples & oranges, and ice, microwave oven, stemware, flatware, complementary coffees, tea, cider, cocoa, popcorn and dessert in the afternoon. More Intimate than a Hotel or a Motel...

All guest rooms have private bathrooms and cable television. Three of the guest rooms have wood-burning fireplaces for your enjoyment. Our famous country gourmet breakfast is served in the Garden Gazebo in the summer and by the crackling hearth when winter sets in.

You can find us in the cookbooks "Soup's On", "American Mornings", and "Breakfast in Bed-California." To help make your breakfast experience truly enjoyable, we customize our breakfasts to meet your special dietary needs.

Winters often bring a dusting of snow, spring sends our extensive rose gardens into full bloom, summer breezes welcome the starlit nights and fall turns the trees into a blaze of color. A popular feature of our Inn is the romantic Horse Drawn Carriage Ride into Julian for dinner or through the peaceful countryside. Advance reservations are required.
