You'll spend enchanted nights in our "Princess Anne" 1898 Victorian B&B. A lush and fragrant English-style herb and flower garden provides a tranquil setting for romance, rest and relaxation, or pleasant conversation beside gurgling fountains at our Half Moon Bay Bed and Breakfast.
The atmosphere of the Inn is friendly and informal. The parlor is the center of activity. Decorated with classic and custom-designed furniture and Kathy's plein air oil paintings, the parlor offers an assortment of current magazines, games, and video taped films as well as wine and cheese, nuts, and candies for all to enjoy. Your hosts and our gracious staff will greet you with warm hospitality and provide any assistance you need to make your visit most enjoyable and memorable.

Typical breakfast offerings can include lemon-rosemary or banana-coconut crumb cake, ginger or cranberry muffins, "quiche du jour", lemon-cheese pancakes with strawberry syrup, chili rellenos, zucchini souffle, basil featherbed eggs, or eggs benedict. Breakfast always begins with orange juice, freshly ground custom-roasted coffee, regular or herbal teas, fresh seasonal fruit and delectable breads. All our cakes, muffins, and breads are baked right here at the Inn.

There's no scarcity of interesting places to visit, including Ano Nuevo State Reserve for viewing elephant seals, Fitzgerald Marine Reserve for its tidepools and other wildlife, Obester Winery, and Pigeon Point Lighthouse to mention just a few. This 48 mile drive on Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz is one of the most scenic drives in California! Start your trip by heading south away from downtown on Main Street. In about ½ mile Main Street ends at Hwy 1. Turn left and you’re on your way!
Drive north on Hwy 1 through the many small communities that make up what we call the Coastside's. Along the way, visit the many beaches, hike in the mountains, and enjoy the diverse activities associated with our Pillar Point Harbor, with its picturesque fishing fleet. Start your trip by heading north on Main Street, through the center of town, until you come to Hwy 1 intersection (Chevron gas station). Turn right and you’re on your way!

Going east on Hwy 92 takes you through an area with many nurseries and green houses. If you love plants you can spend long happy hours strolling through acres of them. Take special note of Pastorinos if you love roses (you can’t miss the beautiful rose gardens in front) or ePlant World (at the end of a row of greenhouses) if your taste runs to orchids. In Fall, Hwy 92 is lined with pumpkin farms which, in Winter, become forests of Christmas trees. Start your trip by heading north on Main Street, through the center of town, until you come to the intersection with Hwy 92 (Shell gas station). Turn right and you’re on your way!
Before you start your day trip, you might want to plan a picnic lunch as there are many beaches and parks along the way where you could have a leisurely lunch. Several businesses in town make delicious sandwiches and luncheon treats:
Cunha's Country Store
Three blocks north on Main Street, has a nice deli counter and all the other things you need.
Garden Deli & Cafe
Four blocks North on Main Street, locals think they make the best sandwiches in town.
New Leaf Grocery
On Hwy 92 at the intersection with Hwy 1 (7 blocks from the inn); natural and organic foods, great deli with all kinds of wonderful food and drinks.
From San Francisco or San Francisco Airport (SFO)
Take either Hwy 101 or Hwy 280 South to Hwy 92 West (toward Half Moon Bay). Follow 92 until you enter Half Moon Bay (the only town on Hwy 92). The first light you come to is Main Street (Shell gas station on corner), turn left there, continue 6 blocks and look for the Inn on your left.
Driving distance from San Francisco: 28 miles, from SFO: 22 miles.
From San Jose
Take Hwy 101 or Hwy 280 North to Hwy 92 West (toward Half Moon Bay). Follow 92 until you enter Half Moon Bay (the only town on Hwy 92). The first traffic light is Main Street (Shell gas station on corner), turn left there, continue 6 blocks and look for the Inn on your left.
Driving distance from San Jose/Silicon Valley: Approx. 45 miles.
From Santa Cruz, Monterey, and points South on the Coastal Highway (Highway 1)
Follow Hwy 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) North till you seen signs that you are entering Half Moon Bay. Look for signs pointing to "Historic Main Street" (you'll pass Half Moon Bay Lodge and Joe's Place On the Coast, 1/2 mile before the Main Street/Higgins-Purissima Road exit). Exit right onto Main Street, in about 4 blocks look for the Inn on your right. Driving distance from Santa Cruz: 45 miles, from Monterey/Carmel-by-the-Sea: 100 miles.
