The Perfect Place For Your Morning CoffeeAfter a sumptuous breakfast and perhaps an early-morning workout in the fitness room, head out to experience Half Moon Bay and the coastal community of San Mateo County. The Coastline comfortably takes its place between the dramatic, green Santa Cruz Mountains to the east and the powerful blue-green Pacific Ocean to the west. Because of its geographic isolation, the area has not changed dramatically over the years. Dating back to 1840, Half Moon Bay is the oldest town in San Mateo County. Traces of its past are visible in the many historic buildings. Abundant open space and native wildlife in this largely rural setting contribute to the area's unique appeal.

Hike, walk, or bike along the dramatic bluffs that jut along the Pacific -- Landis Shores is located on the six-mile Coast Side Trail that extends into historic Half Moon Bay. Explore tide pools, go whale watching, or bring your binoculars for some amazing birdwatching. Bring your sunscreen and explore the Half Moon Bay beaches. Wander and shop on the historic Main Street or play a round of golf at the Arnold Palmer-designed Half Moon Bay Golf Links, ranked number one in the Bay Area. Half Moon Bay is home to many flower growers and nurseries as well as some great coastal vineyards.

After an excitement-filled day, return to the Inn for an in-room massage and complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres served every afternoon. In the evening, dine at one of the nearby restaurants, then take a romantic stroll. Enjoy it all at Landis Shores, your new oceanfront escape on the Northern California coast!

In addition to devising the inn's Gourmet Breakfast program, Chef Ken Landis is a frequent wine judge at competitions across the state of California. He also conducts cooking demonstrations at major food and wine events, and creates the inn's legendary New Year's Eve dinner.

In addition to directing the wine program at Landis Shores, Ellen is a frequent wine judge at national and international wine competitions. Ellen is a wine educator, speaker, and consultant, and would be thrilled to arrange a private tasting event at the inn for couples or small groups. She'll work with you too customize a tasting event you won't forget! Contact Landis Shores for more details: 650-726-6642.
