It's easy to see why the Shaw House Inn is the town showplace drawing
rave reviews and repeat visits...
Built more than a century ago in 1854 by the city founder for his bride, the Shaw House Inn was the first post office and courthouse. It is now the oldest structure in Ferndale and the oldest B&B in California.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and modeled after Hawthorn's famous house of seven gables, this Carpenter Gothic Revival is a rare find with its jutting gables, balconies, and bay windows.
