Welcome to The Inn at Mountain View, in Mountain View, Arkansas; the Folk Music Capital of the World! Built in 1886, the Inn is a Nationally Registered historic, just off the courthouse square.
The INN is waiting to greet you with the same friendly hospitality that guests have been experiencing there for over a century..
Since 1886, when John Webb, a Civil War veteran, successful merchant, and Mountain View's first postmaster, opened his home, (then known as The Dew Drop Inn), to traveling salesmen, circuit riders, preachers and other weary travelers.
Even through several transitions from inn to boarding house back to inn, the house has maintained a reputation for hospitality. In 1977 this rambling house on Washington Street became full-fledged Bed and Breakfast. Stay with us while here on business or pleasure!
Now known as The Inn at Mountain View, it offers its own unique blend of warmth and comfort.
It all starts with visitors being welcomed by the large front porch with its alluring rocker that invites you to sit a spell and listen to the breeze in the Maple trees, renew old acquaintances, and build new friendships.
The Inn at Mountain View is decorated with beautiful antiques throughout. When you enter the front door, you are swept up by the old time southern country atmosphere.
As a guest at the Inn at Mountain View you will enjoy the spacious rooms filled with antiques and the outside areas of our Inn. Our huge front porch, sunroom and our back courtyard with a flowing stream are great locations to enjoy the fresh Ozark Mountain Air.
For your enjoyment we have a big screen 51" plasma TV in our game/family/conference room with cable. We also have a DVD player and VCR, with a library of movies available 24 hours a day. We also have a guest pantry with refreshments available 24 hours a day. We stock soft drinks, cake, popcorn, coffee, tea, cookies, indulgence trail mix, M&M's, ice and water.
We offer 10 guest rooms and suites for overnight lodging. Each stay includes a full country breakfast full use of our common areas including parlors, porches and grounds.
We also offer a number of services for business travelers including wireless Internet, a small meeting room and a larger conference/game room.
The Inn at Mountain View is located on the northwest corner of the courtsquare in Mountain View.

People love us because we are "Southern Comfort". We are within walking distance of The Town Square, with the Musicians Pickin Park in our front yard.

Road Trip: The Ozarks, Arkansas From National Geographic's Drives of a Lifetime Series recently mentioned The Inn at Mountainview as our porch being one of many stages where folks can come and enjoy music .The front porch of the inn is the best place in the whole world to sit, relax, jam, and listen to music. The Inn is unique with the History background and all the memories people have made here over years and years. We love meeting people the most and hearing different stories about their lives.

The town in general, the people are great here, really down to earth. You could not look the world over and find a better place. Music-Folk/Bluegrass/Celtic/Old-Time
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
We have been told staying with us is like staying with family, Mountainview has been compared to Mayberry which to us that is a big compliment.The music jams on the square in front of the inn are the most relaxing enjoyable thing a family can do and it's all free, provided by local musicians.

There are a lot of great places to eat, but we recommend Joe Joe's Catfish Warf (on the White River) or Angler's (on the White River), Tommie's Famous Pizza, PJ's Rainbow Cafe, Wing shack

Sorry, we do not accept pets. There are several local boarding houses if guests need pet accommodations.

It could be argued there is no other place quite like Mountain View, Arkansas. Surrounded by the Ozark Mountains and National Forest, Mountain View is a great destination for outdoor fun. You’ll find one of America’s top mountain bike trails, the Syllamo, and our White River is world famous as a top trout fishing habitat.
Spectacular Blanchard Springs Caverns takes you deep into a limestone cave with both easy walking tours and wild cave spelunking adventures. Other activities in the area include, golf, horseback riding, multiple music theaters, antique shops, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, and a 45 minute drive to the dam at Greer's Ferry lake.
What really makes Mountain View unique are the Ozark Heritage traditions that continue today: skilled craftsmen, living history and most of all, the MUSIC!
Mountain View is often called the Bluegrass Capital of the world and with good reason. We are home to many Ozarks style music shows performing regularly and each year we host several large music festivals featuring nationally known musicians. The Ozark Folk Center State Park has regular demonstrations of Ozark Crafts and culture.
But you will find music seems to be everywhere in Mountain View. Each evening, in season, musicians gather on the courthouse square or at the famous fire ring park for impromptu jam sessions. You will also find music being played throughout our Inn to as guests often bring their own stringed instruments to play on our porch and courtyard gardens.
