Great Fishing is Here Now 1 Jun 2013, 9:34 am
Striped Bass, White Bass, and hybrids are all on the move in our area, decamping the river as water temperatures rise and bass spawning draws to a close. The White River has been in the 70-degree range recently and the Kings River is running at swimming temp – 78 degrees last week. In Beaver Lake, good top water bites are being achieved with big redfins and Sara Spooks. Searching along the flat areas near shore is a good place to cast, and sunrise and sunset are yielding excellent results. Also look for gravelly area, stumps and natural nesting areas where big ones seem to be biting now.
Be sure and book one of our historic cottages or luxury Jacuzzi suites and we can help you arrange a memorable fishing trip with guide services.
Trout Fishing in America 27 May 2013, 12:16 pm
One of our favorite groups, Trout Fishing in America, performed this weekend at Eureka Springs’ venerable city auditorium, The Aud. This wonderful facility is just a half a block away from Cliff Cottage Inn, on Main Street, and features comfortable vintage seating and superb acoustics. The duo of Tout Fishing in America gave a very lively performance, featuring not only superb instrumental work on guitar, banjo, electric bass (and something I had not seen before – an electric concert double bass in the shape of a traditional double bass neck with a support stick out the bottom) but also new vocals from their upcoming CD. During intermission, both musicians mixed with the audience and shared performance stories. We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to catch this class act and to be able to share it with some of our guests at Cliff Cottage Inn.

New Cliff Cottage Inn Video 25 May 2013, 9:40 am
A few weeks ago, Mike Shubic, videographer and travel writer, visited Cliff Cottage Inn. He proved to be amazingly creative and we had lots of fun with him as he toured Eureka Springs and our inn. Mike produced a fast-paced video narrative of Cliff Cottage Inn as well as illustrating some of the charming aspects of our quaint Victorian village. To see the results of Mike’s efforts, check out the link below:
Come stay with us and enjoy for yourself the sights and sounds of Eureka Springs at Cliff Cottage Inn, just 17 steps down to Main Street and all the neat shops, restaurants, music spots and historic buildings.

Top 10 Motorcycle Rides in North America
Eureka Springs has become the hub of many amazing motorcycle rides and the #2 ride out of 10 named by Discovery Channel starts in Ozark, just 80 fabulous riding miles down from Eureka Springs. Head south out of Eureka Springs on Hwy 23 for about two hours of incredible scenery and turns to Ozark, AR (between Little Rock and Ft. Smith) where the Pig Trail begins.
Some other neat rides from Eureka Springs are: head west on Hwy 12 to Rogers via War Eagle Mill; head west on Hwy 62 to Bentonville and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art; head north towards Roaring River Canyon and Branson, and southeast to Buffalo River National Park.
All bike riders know the feeling of flying … of freedom … that a great ride brings. Imagine those feelings intensified by the sheer beauty or fascinating landscape of nature’s best wonders.
To help you imagine (and maybe even go), we’ve chosen the best places in North America to take your motorcycle for a spin.
2. Arkansas Pig Trail, Arkansas
The town of Ozark lies between Little Rock and Fort Smith, and that’s where you’ll want to pick up this trail, so aptly named in the state that made Razorbacks famous. The rugged and forested Boston Mountains region of the Ozark Mountains is the setting for this route, which often runs through a tunnel of foliage during spring, summer and fall.
Spring wildflowers and brilliant autumn colors make the route especially popular during those seasons. The route crosses the Mulberry River and the 165-mile Ozark Highlands Trail. And you’ll encounter various hairpin turns, straightaways, and drop-offs where the cliffs seem to be right next to you. Stop by the general store halfway through the run to get a pin proclaiming that you have ridden “The Arkansas Dragon.”
