Table Of Contents
Welcome to the England House, located in Flagstaff, Arizona. Savor the richness of past and present in this storied 1902 stone cutter's house.
The house features four characteristic guest rooms with private baths. Our two-room suite also features a gas-log stove. All rooms include a sumptuous breakfast.
Upon arrival, your hosts, Laurel and Richard Dunn, welcome you with a complimentary glass of wine or ale and an introductory tour of this storied old house. The tour will whet your appetite for whatever cultural and culinary treasures await you.
Each morning, awaken to the aroma of freshly ground and brewed coffee, made available at whatever time you request, followed by a full, gourmet breakfast. A fresh fruit delight precedes the breakfast entree, which is either an egg dish accompanied by locally fresh-baked breads or something on the sweeter side, hot off the griddle or out of the oven. Irish or old-fashioned oats are available on request. With advanced notice, we will do our best to accommodate any dietary needs. It is our intent that your first meal of the day be your best.
You will always find something fresh-baked such as cookies, mint chocolate brownies, pumpkin muffins, or old-fashioned coffee cake, and a bowl of fresh fruit to help yourself to any time of the day or night. For thosewho like to grab a late-night snakc, the fridge is stocked with ice cream bars or milk and cookies. Our soft, fluffy robes in your room come in handy for a quick trip to the fridge!
Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available anytime for you to enjoy in the elegant yet comfortable parlor boasting one of the many beautiful and historic pressed tin ceilings in the house. Snuggle by the volcanic rock fireplace, or curl up in the window seat and just watch the world go by.
Breakfast is served on the wooden Sun Porch so you can enjoy the beautiful morning skies through small-pane windows. Breakfast may also be served on the outside deck (weather permitting) to allow guests to soak up the glorious morning sun. On chilly mornings, the warmth of the Hearthstone stove is the perfect complement to a "snow globe" morning.
