As you enter this cozy room, your eyes are first drawn to a beautifully adorned queen-sized Select Comfort bed that is perfect for an afternoon of snuggling or a well-deserved nap. Quickly, your eye perceives a full wall of built-in shelves and desk area and a nested reading nook that will draw you toward a simpler "way of life." In this unique, open-air accommodation, sip hot chocolate and enjoy the majestic beauty of a southern sunset while rocking gently in the old-style rocking chairs that adorn your own sitting area. Let the pressures of life and "that aching back" relax as you indulge yourself in the unique "steam room" that adjoins the porch. Fall asleep on a comfortable king-size bed while viewing the southern night skies and enjoying a cool evening breeze. Awake refreshed to the songs of the birds and the sounds of nature. With its shared first-floor powder room, The Sleeping Porch provides all the necessities for those seeking an "outdoor experience" with all the "indoor" comforts. Rent The Sleeping Porch on its own or in conjunction with other rooms for extra sleeping space. Our younger guests especially enjoy the adventure.

• Our rates are based on double occupancy and are subject to an 11% state/local lodging tax.
• Reservations can be made on-line, by phone, by email, or in person. Please feel free to call, using our toll-free number, with any question or concern. If you have a special request (i.e. diet) or travel/event plans relating to your visit, please let us know when making your reservation. We will work hard to meet those requests, if at all possible.
• Depending on room availability, same day reservations are welcome. However, to help ensure your stay with us is truly memorable, we welcome your advanced reservations.
• Advanced reservations must be secured with a credit card (MasterCard, American Express, Visa, or Discover) at the time your reservation is made.
• Payment is made at check-out via credit/debit card, cash, check (local), traveler's check, or by the redemption of a Longing for Home Gift Certificate.
• Summer rates are in effect from April through October.
• Winter rates are in effect November through March.
• Throughout the year, one-night stays are welcome; however, on seasonal holidays and for special events, a two-night minimum may be required.
• Check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM.
• With advanced notice, arrivals before 3:00 PM may be allowed, subject to room and parking availability.
• Please notify us if you plan to arrive after 5:00 PM.
• Discounts: We have standing military, senior citizen, and business traveler discounts. Check with us for other specials that run periodically throughout the year.
• Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved subject to the following cancellation policy:
• Regular Leisure Stays
  • Cancellations made seven (7) or more days prior to your reservation will be subject to a $25 processing fee.
  • Cancellations made within six (6) days of your reservation will be charged 50% of the room rate for each day cancelled.
  • "No-shows" and same day cancellations will be charged 100% of the room rate for all dates canceled.
  • If the room is rebooked with another guest, the 50% or 100% charge will be reduced to a $25 processing fee.
• Group, Holiday, Special Events
  • Cancellations made ten (10) or more days prior to your group (two or more rooms), special event, and holiday reservations is subject to a 50% charge of the room rate for all rooms and all dates canceled.
  • Cancellations made within nine (9) days of your group (two or more rooms), special event, and holiday reservations is subject to a 100% charge of the room rate for all rooms and all dates canceled.
  • A single $25 processing fee is charged if your cancelled reservation is rebooked with another guest, otherwise the rescheduling of your reservation constitutes a cancellation.
• No smoking is allowed in the rooms, on the room decks, or inside the inn. Smoking is restricted to the designated outside area. A minimum $200 cleaning fee is imposed if this policy is broken or if there is evidence that it has been violated.
• Longing for Home and its surrounding property is reserved exclusively for our registered guests. As such, the following room use policy is established: Prior coordination and our approval is required if you plan to have non-registered visitors during your stay. Honor our other guests. Loud music, talking, and noise-generating activities are prohibited. The full cost of cleaning, repairing, and/or replacement of Longing for Home property and/or facilities caused by a guest's actions will be charged to that guest.
• The Longing for Home "country breakfast" is for the enjoyment of our registered guests. If you would like to invite guests to join you for breakfast; we can, with prior coordination and approval, accommodate visitors. There is a "breakfast fee" added to the guest bill for your breakfast visitors.
• Longing for Home does not meet the needs of children less than 13 years of age (including infants). Guests are responsible for the behavior of their children and for maintaining a quiet, relaxing, and secure atmosphere for all of our guests.
• We are unable to accommodate pets.
