Columbus Street Inn is located in what is considered to be one of the oldest existing structures in the northwest Alabama town of Fayette. The original house was built in 1870. Over the years, the house has been home to many Fayette families. It was renovated, "modernized," and opened to the public as Columbus Street Inn in the later 1900's, and has existed as such since then.
Present owners, Ben and Mary Hightower, purchased the Inn in November of 2005. They hope to keep the heritage of the structure intact while making improvements that will enhance the stay of all their guests. Columbus Street Inn has four guestrooms just "Waiting to Welcome You" for your overnight stay in Fayette. Each guest room is tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings, many of which are original antiques. Guests at Columbus Street Inn now have access to wireless high-speed internet to use with their laptop computers and wireless card.

Wake each morning to a full, hot gourmet breakfast, served to all overnight guests. Some of our favorites are sausage and egg casserole with cheesy grits and fruit, pancakes with fresh strawberry sauce and bacon, and banana walnut french toast with bacon. We always serve freshly brewed coffee and orange juice, as well as hot tea, hot chocolate, and a variety of soft drinks. Guests who prefer, may choose from an assortment of cold cereals and fresh fruit. Our most popular breakfast is sausage and cheese crepes, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and hot southern biscuits.
