Windsock

Our Benchmark 2 night weekend retreat package is available 48 weekends per year, and includes accommodation, unlimited use of the Windsock conference facilities, and 5 great meals. Check in is at 3 PM on the date of your arrival. Room check out is 12 Noon on the date of your departure. You are welcome to stay on and use the conference facilities until 3 PM on that day.

Our Cottage accommodates retreat groups ranging from 6 – 8 croppers or crafters. It contains an ample and flexible amount of product display space and up to 8ea 6ft cropping tables with comfortable accompanying seating. Each table is equipped with its own separate task lamp. The Cottage also features Satellite Television with VHS and DVD capability, provides access to our motion picture library, and has a kitchen complete with refrigerator ane microwave oven. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths that easily accommodate 7 - 8 croppers or crafters comfortably.

Food offerings for retreats are both plentiful and delicious. Breakfast may include homemade savory breakfast bakes, quiches, unique breakfast pizzas, traditional biscuits and sausage gravy. There is nothing very continental about Windsock breakfast. Lunches may include salads, homemade soups, gumbos, and stews, red beans and rice with home cooked cornbread accompaniment, thick diverse sandwiches on croissants, Italian, and French breads. Dinners may include barbecued brisket, smoked ham, pulled pork, Jamaican jerk chicken and jerk pork. Of course all the traditional trimmings of barbecue such as slaw, potato salads, and baked beans are included. Diverse enchilada recipes with all of the traditional accompaniments are also on the menu. In cooler weather chicken & dumplings and homemade chili can often be found on the buffet. Desserts may include homemade banana pudding, strawberry shortcake soaked in good Jamaican rum, brownies cooked and soaked in Maker’s Mark, jacked up cobblers, homemade cookies, and key lime, strawberry daiquiri, and pina colada pies. All meals are served buffet style in the main dining room – plenty to eat. We do not portion out servings.

Our pricing is competitive with other facilities in our area. What we deliver to you is a cut above them. Retreat prices are seasonally adjusted and include all taxes. Please call or e-mail for questions, reservations, and pricing.

Booking the Windsock Main House requires a minimum attendance of 11 paid guests. The 12th guest is complimentary. Booking the Windsock Cottage requires a minimum of 6 paid guests. The 7th guest is complimentary. However, we may be able to accommodate smaller groups in the House during First Monday Trade Day weekends.
