Horseback riding in Texas doesn't get much better than at Wildcatter Ranch & Resort. Our well trained wranglers are friendly and courteous and more importantly they will make you comfortable riding your horse. Our pre-ride orientation will teach you the skills you'll need for a safe, fun ride. If you're an old hand at riding then we can review the skills that you already have.
Canoeing
Imagine sitting in a canoe and lazily paddling along the banks of a creek. Most of our canoe trips take place on Connor Creek right here on Wildcatter Ranch. The rock cliffs and rugged terrain offer an incredible view. There is also canoeing on the Brazos River at Rochelle's and we can make those arrangements for you if you wish.
Swimming
Our infinity edge pool has an incredible view of the Brazos River Valley. Spend a day or an afternoon relaxing by the pool and just drink in the beauty and serenity of our ranch. You can even order food from our restaurant, Wildcatter Steakhouse, and have it delivered to you, poolside.
If the weather is cool or cold, or if you're a little "saddle sore" from a hard day's ride on the trail, our hot tub might be more to your liking. If you need sunglasses, sunscreen, or a cap to protect you from that hot Texas sun, then just come right on in to our little "mini gift shop" right by the pool where you'll find those items, plus cool stuff to drink.
Fishing
Tank Fishing - We have stock tanks on our main ranch which we've stocked with Catfish, Black Bass, Hybrid Stripers, and Bream. Bass are "catch and release." We supply all the equipment and bait.
River Fishing - On the Brazos River itself, you'll find Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Black Bass, Stripers, and Catfish. Parts of the Brazos are great for fly fishing. Remember that lake or river fishing requires a state fishing license.
