the historical towns of Round Top & Winedale, Texas. This is a nice quiet weekend getaway. Enjoy the privacy and gorgeous country setting. Activities include fishing, hiking, camping, BBQ or just rock on the porch. Amenities include full electric kitchen, TV, VCR, CD player and a variety of teas and coffee. There are two cottages, Cedar Tops Cottage and Winedale Cottage. They are located at opposite ends of a 63 acre ranch and each one has a private entrance. Located about 5 miles from Round Top and 2 miles from Winedale. The entire house is yours to enjoy. |

Start your day out here with a beautiful country sunrise and in the evening rock on the porch till the sun goes down. But be sure to come back out later for the moon and the stars at night. We have a large smoker in the smokehut as well as a smaller BBQ pit. There is a very large pier to fish from and a small boat. We also have an area set up where you can throw Horseshoes or if you prefer we provide the equipment for Croquet. |

| There is a creek that traverses this 63 acre tract and the creek is thick with all kinds of trees and wild plant life. It makes for a nice place to hike. The pier, smokehut and barn all have electricity and water. This allows for night fishing and cleaning fish at the pier. The pond is stocked with channel catfish and native bigmouth bass. You can see my son caught a five pound bass. Now that's a nice bass! It is the largest to date. |

| Some of you have never heard of this area and others have heard but never visited. Round Top, Texas is the home of one of the largest antique festivals held in Texas. It is held twice a year during the first week in April and October. There are also a number of interesting places to visit and tour in Round Top; Royers Cafe, Festival Institute and Henkel Square, to name a few. Festival Institute is a 1200 seat concert hall where one of the major music festivals in the United States is held. Henkel Square is a museum village in the center of Round Top that showcases pioneer German architecture and decorative arts. |

Winedale, Texas is the home of the Stagecoach Inn which is open for tour by the University of Texas. This Inn was purchased by Miss Ima Hogg who bought it from Houstonian, Hazel G. Ledbetter in 1963. Miss Ima Hogg finished restoration of the Inn and gave it to the University of Texas. On these same grounds is also the Shakespeare Theater at Winedale were young promising actors from all over the world put on Shakespeare's famous plays inside a restored barn. |
