The lodge can accommodate six persons overnight and
small groups for daytime & evening functions. Lodging can be provided for
additional persons over double occupancy with the use of the trundle bed, aerobed or
aerocots. All three rooms have private baths, and guests enjoy use of the
large common room, game room, backyard grill, fishing piers and more. And
since the owners live next door, many guests have expressed enjoyment of
the additional privacy provided at Rope The Wind.

The large, common room (above) is available to all guests at the lodge. The western decor abounds in leather, rustic wood and iron, antiques, and art by various western artists. A large double-sided fireplace with an open hearth greets arriving guests, and comfy leather couches beckon the weary. The turn-of-the-century pool table may entice visitors into a little friendly competition, and the card room is cozy and inviting with its wagon wheel table and games. The large entertainment center has a DVD/VCR television with satellite service, a stereo, movies, books, and magazines.

The lake cabin is a
multi-use indoor/outdoor facility located on our lake. It is
climate-controlled and accommodates small or large groups for weddings,
corporate meetings and retreats, family or class reunions, or any special
occasion. Although the cabin is not designed for overnight stays, it is
the perfect place to have your next important event.

The ranch operations include raising registered gray Brahman cattle, registered Simmental cattle, and palomino horses. The farming operations include the cultivation of oats and native and coastal bermuda grass for grazing and hay. Some of the wildlife roaming the ranch from time to time are armadillos, coyotes, cottontails and jackrabbits, and the occasional turkey, bobcat, fox and deer. There are several cottontails that play in the yard in the late evening, and coyote calls can be heard most nights.
