| Our guesthouse offers the ultimate rural getaway combined with cozy, immaculate accomodations deep in the heart of Texas... Although we are off the beaten path, we are centrally located just an hour's drive from Austin, Fredericksburg or the River Walk in San Antonio. We are only 20 minutes from Pedernales Falls State Park, Blanco State Park on the river, Historic Johnson City and numerous wineries and lavender farms. You will also find it to be a very easy day trip to Enchanted Rock State Park, Llano with its beautiful river and Bald Eagle nest viewing in season, the wildflower loop at Willow City and many more adventures to choose from. |

If you enjoy seeing the deer feed right outside your front door, magnificent views, abundant birdwatching and relaxing in peace and quiet, then you are headed in the right direction! Best of all, you will be the only guests on our 10 acre retreat... Please note: the final approach to the Rock House is 1 1/2 miles of private unpaved road. We ask that you drive slowly as there are cattle, deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife that must share the thoroughfare with you. Your consideration will be appreciated. |
| The airy but cozy living room of the house opens to a fully appointed kitchen stocked with freshly baked breads, muffins or coffecake, homemade granola, fresh fruit and a variety of coffee, tea and juice to get you started on your day. The bedroom opens from the livingroom as well and is furnished with a plush antique double bed made up in linens inspired by nature. The cathedral ceiling spans both rooms of the cabin... combined with ample closet and storage to provide a roomy atmosphere to your quarters. The bath is off the bedroom where you will discover generous, line-dried towels, herbal soaps and a spacious shower to soothe away your travels. |

You are encouraged to enjoy the porch swing. Here birds congregate at feeders and the deer come up most mornings and evenings for their "rations". The days are full of birdsong and the nights are full of stars on clear evenings. The solitude will allow you to listen for the night songs of coyotes, whippoorwills, owls etc., and perhaps you will catch a glimpse of a shooting star...or even a meteor shower! Our goal is to provide you with the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the Hill Country combined with the most comfortable night's sleep imaginable... and of course a delicious breakfast to get you going in the morning....a place to relax the body and allow nature to refresh your spirit.
