A popular attraction is The Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility which is operated by NASA, where they launch balloons as large as 300 feet in diameter and hold tours. A few miles northwest of Palestine, is the Palestine Community Forest, which has seven hundred acres of trees with scenic drives leading to four lakes featuring fishing, boating, and picnicking.
