Meyer Bed and Breakfast offers one of the most scenic, peaceful, and romantic Hill Country bed and breakfast getaways in Comfort, Texas. Since its beginnings in 1857 as a stage stop for travelers preparing to cross the Guadalupe River on the fabled Old Spanish Trail, the Meyer has invited travelers to rest, relax and enjoy life.
With a classic, oversize swimming pool and spacious grounds on scenic, tree-lined, Cypress Creek perfect for fishing, canoeing and picnicking, the Meyer is an ideal setting for enjoying the superb climate and unique natural beauty. Among the countless improvements we've made recently is a relaxing hot tub in a secluded corner overlooking the creek. We recently finished extensively remodeling and refurbishing all our cozy suites. Almost all the suites now have charming freestanding porcelain and cast-iron gas fireplaces, and all suites have spacious new vanity areas with hairdryers, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, and new heating and air conditioning units.
Our beautifully landscaped grounds, with their classic swimming pool, fish pond, and gently running fountain will make your stay a delight. Our location on this beautiful stretch of Cypress Creek, only a few hundred yards upstream from the Guadalupe River, is perfect for fishing, canoeing, or just enjoying the view.
Our beautiful 27-acre nature area has recently been opened for our guest's use. This secluded spot has groves of pecan trees, fields of wildflowers, abundant deer and wildlife for nature lovers to enjoy. Come enjoy an unforgettable walk among the huge mature native cypress and pecan trees overhanging scenic Cypress Creek.
Built to move the heat of hotel cooking outdoors in the era before air conditioning, the summer kitchen today is a great place for a social gathering, a game room, or for just relaxing above the creek side.
Breakfast
A full breakfast is normally served each morning buffet style in the historic 1880's Gast Haus. Enjoy your meal while admiring what nature has to offer in our dining room or outside deck overlooking the flowing Cypress Creek. A sausage and egg casserole, ham and cheese quiche or a taste of a Tex-Mex egg dish is just an example of some of the entrees served. Belgium waffles with accompanied toppings, or freshly baked biscuits & sausage gravy just like Grandma used to make will satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. You may even find some homemade bread pudding with Bourbon sauce or assorted cakes and cereals to remedy that sweet tooth. Always served daily are fresh fruit in season, hot brewed coffee, and an assortment of herbal teas, milk, and orange juice.

The smaller room seats approximately 20 people while the larger room seats about 30 people. An outside deck with tables and chairs is connected to the larger dining room offering a creek view like no other. Most of the areas are screened in and have fireplaces in front of the comfortable seating areas. Take a lunch and enjoy the outdoors at the many picnic tables scattered throughout the property.
