Lubbock is located in the nortwestern part of Texas in Lubbock County. The Museum of Texas Tech University features an exhibit that shows evidence of 12,000 years of human occupation in the area. The College Baseball Hall of Fame in Lubbock is a unique museum featuring collegiate greats of years past that shouldn't be missed. Two festivals in Lubbock include The Flatland Film Festival which is held in late September and attracts celebrities and crowds to the area to celebrate independent films. The Independence Day festival in Lubbock is held on July 4th and is the largest free festival in Texas.
