Introduction
Judge R.E.B. Baylor was the founder of
Baylor University which was chartered by the Republic of
Texas in 1845. The Judge Baylor House at 908 Speight Ave. is
located adjacent to the campus and is a three-minute drive to
downtown Waco and the Waco Convention Center.
The world’s largest collection of materials relating to
Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning is housed in the
Armstrong-Browning library, also located on
Speight Avenue just 1-1/2 blocks away. The library has 56 stained glass
windows depicting the poems of the Brownings.
With only five rooms, we, the owners and innkeepers, Bruce
and Dorothy Dyer, are able to provide quality personal time to
our guests. Since our living quarters are also located on the
grounds of the Judge Baylor House, we are available whenever
needed.
Whether you want a time away from your busy daily activities,
are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, spending your
wedding night, visiting a student at Baylor, attending a function
or athletic event or have business in Waco, we believe your stay
as our guest will be unusually rewarding. Also as our guest you
will be free to come and go at your leisure and have use of the
common rooms of the Judge Baylor House.
Voted by inn-goers in Arrington's Bed & Breakfast Journal's Book of Lists as the #1 B&B owned/operated by senior citizens and also designated as one of the top 25 B&B Inns.
