Hidden Oaks, just two miles from Hobby Airport and 10 minutes from downtown Houston, Hidden Oaks offers you the opportunity to experience the old Southern atmosphere within a modern bustling city. Visit us for a taste of real Southern hospitality! Hidden Oaks is a large plantation style home set on 1-1/2 acres in the city of Houston, built in 1927 by Samuel Ezekiel and Bessie Allen. Samuel was the great grandson of Ezekiel Thomas who came to Texas from South Carolina in 1822. Ezekiel was a member of the "Old Three Hundred", the first 300 families to receive title to property in Texas from Stephen F. Austin. These families were viewed as historic elite. Allen's parents, Samuel Ezekiel Allen and Rosa Christie Lum, were among the most prominent Texas ranchers at the turn of the century. Their cattle ranch expanded to a 13,000 acre operation. Our property was part of that ranch. |

The Bessie Suite This spacious, 500 sq. ft. suite features a bedroom, sitting room, dressing room, and your own private bathroom. In the bedroom, an enormous king size rice poster bed with a cozy down filled comforter. For keeping in touch with the outside world, the suite offers the convenience of a TV/VCR, CD player and a separate phone line for you computer. It also includes a mini-fridge, microwave oven, coffee pot, hair dryer and other great amenities. The sitting room has a day bed which converts into twin beds for extra guests and the bathroom has a separate shower and tub. The suite also has two separate entrances. $175 on the weekends and $150 during the week. Single Rate/Corporate Rate (weekday only) - $125 Extra Person $25 each. The Rosa Christie Suite This spacious, 500 sq. ft. suite features a bedroom, sitting room, dressing room, and your own private bathroom. The bathroom has a separate shower and tub. In the bedroom, a romantic king size bed with a beautiful custom upholstered headboard. In the large dressing room, a Hollywood lighted mirror is the perfect place for dressing the bride and her bridesmaids for the big day. For a quiet moment, private conversation, or keeping in touch with the outside world, the suite offers the convenience of a TV/VCR, dining room table, a separate phone line for your computer, a mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee pot, hair dryer and other great amenities. A beautiful handcrafted fireplace mantle adorns the room and adds that 1900 century touch. Also the sitting room has a day bed which that converts into twin beds for extra guests. $175 (Friday and Saturday nights), Midweek Special Double (Sunday -Thursday) - $150 (no minimum stay), Single Rate/Corporate Rate (weekday only) - $125. The Carriage House A cozy upstairs apartment away from the main house that offers a full kitchen with appliances, coffee pot, and dishes. This is the perfect accommodation if you are on a long vacation and wish to cook in, instead of going out. The bathroom includes a shower stall and features a luxurious jetted tub for two. The Carriage House has a plush queen size antique oak bed and Tiffany style lamps to read by. For a quiet night in, this apartment is equipped with a TV/VCR, and you are welcome to use the extensive movie library in the main house. Step outside the French double doors to your private balcony and unwind as you settle in on the glider swing and take in the beauty of our splendidly landscaped gardens. An elegant breakfast is also served in the main house. $195 (Weekend and Holiday rate), Midweek Special Double (Sunday -Thursday) - $175 (no minimum stay), Single Rate/Corporate Rate (weekday only) - $125 Samuel's Retreat A lovely room off the parlor in the main house and overlooking the gardens. This room offers a comfortable queen size bed, desk, mini-fridge, TV/VCR and a bathroom with a shower. $125 Friday and Saturday nights, $110 Midweek Special (Sunday through Thursday), $110 Single corporate rate (weekdays only) |

| Innkeepers, Phil and Maria are lifelong residents of Houston. They enjoy visiting with their B&B guests and are willing to share their knowledge about the city or help plan an itinerary for your vacation. Phil and Maria celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in May of 2007. They have five children, twelve grandchildren and two dogs, Prissy and Ginger. |
