American Heritage House Bed & Breakfast

The Ida Mae, our honeymoon and bridal suite, is ground floor accessible off the music room in the east wing of the main house and perhaps the most stunning of all the guestrooms. It can be entered from inside the home or from its own private entrance off the wraparound side porch. The focal point of the room, an immense Victorian pedestal step bed that you literally "climb" into, is draped and flanked by a marble fireplace and hearth the full-length of the wall. The marbletop antique chest & dresser are among the finest of the period antiques in the home. A pair of Sevoire arm chairs and an antique desk and chair complete the furnishings in the bedroom. The large private bath includes a Duncan-Phyfe conversion vanity & mirror and a glass-encased shower. A Thomas Kincaide hexogonal stained-glass window over a separate Jacuzzi sets this bathing environment clearly above the norm.

Looking to experience Victorian elegance? Then our spacious second floor luxury suite, the Clarissa, is an excellent choice. As the largest and hence one of the most requested of the accommodations, it features hardwood floors and a majestic King-sized four-poster mahogany bed accented with elegant bed linens and window treatments. A massive Chiffarobe, nightstand, dresser and mirror round out the antique bedroom furnishings. A quiet sitting area, located between the two windows, includes an antique Duncan Phyfe dinette (for optional in-room dining) and a pair of high wing-back chairs. It also includes a breathtaking master bath with a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, both his and her marble vanities and a large walk-in closet.

The Beatrice welcomes guests with beautiful hardwood floors and family heirloom oak bedroom pieces dating from the late 1800's. Its black-and-white gingham and lace window treatments are accented with matching solid oak cornices and a delicate hand-painted dogwood wall mural. The wall opposite the Queen-size maple poster bed is papered in black-and-white toile to accentuate the matching toile comforter and Euro-shams. This lovely room overlooks the backyard of the compound and features a pair of wing-back chairs and table to complete the regal setting. Of course, like all our suites, the Beatrice is complete with ceiling fan and has its own private bathroom, and has the largest of the 2-person Jacuzzi spa tubs in the house which keeps this suite in high demand. The bath also boasts the most striking of the numerous antique dresser & mirror bathroom vanity conversions.

Molly's Room is deliciously inviting and another of our larger bedrooms with Victorian rose Axminster carpeting, an antique oak armoire, dresser and washstand set, and a lovely fainting couch from the Tennessee Governor's Mansion. The room's magnificent King-size Millenium bed is nestled in an upholstered backdrop sea of silk roses. A decorative wingback chair and antique Singer table subtly incorporates cable TV and DVD player into the setting to complete the decor. The extra large bathroom has an oversize clawfoot tub with a European style shower for that quietly relaxing soak in which to unwind. This room also features another of the unique antique Eastlake dresser & mirror conversion vanities.

Sarah Ann is warm, alluring and another of the more spacious bedrooms. A comfy and relaxing room with floral Jacquard Wilton carpeting, its Queen bed has a lavish Teaster style overhead canopy accented with mini-track lighting. Rounding out the antique bedroom furnishings are an oak dresser & mirror, a beautiful antique love seat, and a turn-of- the-century wooden rocker from the family's heirloom collection. Oak also highlights the private bathroom with a vanity and full shower. Its gabled ceilings and dormer, like the Molly, give this room exceptional architectural interest.

If you've an appreciation for Country French simplicity, Mary Jane's room will unquestionably appeal to you. This room features a beautifully restored 4-piece antique bedroom set with Queen-size poster bed-conversion. It features a one-of-a-kind diamond patchwork quilt, a charming 2 person settee and other antique collectibles. The rich oak-grained hardwood flooring accented with area rugs reflect the freshness of the color scheme. The private bath is papered with anaglypta and has a large walk-in shower and Pennsylvania Dutch antique dresser that has been converted into a vanity.

If you like Victorian lace & frills, Alice's Dollhouse is a 2 bedroom cottage that is over-the-top. Both boudoirs include luxurious Queen beds and Armoires. Like all of our guesthouses, the kitchen is complete with stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher, coffee service, washer/dryer and is furnished with dinner and tableware for eight. The living room décor includes a sofa, loveseat and cable TV. French doors separate the living room and dining room which features a faux fireplace. Your choice of continental or offsite breakfast is included. The backyard features a Koi pond and waterfall with an adjacent Gazebo tent furnished with wicker. Along the side of the cottage is a fountain and off-street parking. Long-term executive rentals may opt out of both breakfast and/or housekeeping services...please call for quote.

If you're an incurable romantic, you'll find the ultimate seclusion and charming decor of our one bedroom cottage house to be simply unmatched. The living room includes a queen hide-a-bed and an overstuffed chair & ottoman. Like all our accommodations, it is furnished with 99 channel cable TV and VCR. A fully equipped kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink, disposal, coffee service and is complete with dinner & tableware for 8. It even has a washer/dryer for emergencies. The bedroom features a Queen-size bed with antique dresser, nightstands, boudoir lamps and rocker. The master bath includes a Jacuzzi tub-shower combination and a large walk-in closet. And to enhance your private compound there is a front porch area with wicker furniture, a rear deck with chairs and independent off-street parking.

Another quaint 2 bedroom unit, Blueberry Cottage has a bit more square footage than either of our other cottage units. It too has Queen-size beds and antique furnishings in each bedroom. Like all of our cottages, the kitchen is complete with stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher, coffee service, washer/dryer and is furnished with dinner and tableware for eight. Spacious dining and living rooms complete the setting. If you like outdoor living, there is a 16x18 deck off the kitchen in back and a small porch in front. There is also plenty of off-street privacy parking available. Your choice of continental or offsite breakfast is included. Long-term executive rentals may opt out of both breakfast and housekeeping. Formerly the private estate of a local physician, this is the newest property in the Heritage House family of accommodations. It doubles as a lovely overnight guesthome or a cozy retreat center for group events. The Manor offers a luxurious settng for family reunions, corporate planning events, ladies overnight getaways, small business meetings, pastoral retreats and is perfect for scrapbooking activities. Its sprawling 2,800 square feet has a full kitchen, dinette, diningroom, livingroom, den, office, 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. We’re happy to assist you in planning your Granbury retreat, wedding or other event to insure that they’re both treasured and memorable. • American Heritage House is an upscale luxury B&B property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least seven (7) days* prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation to avoid all but a $25 card processing fee. Said fee will remain on our books as a credit for an additional 30 days should you elect to rebook.
• In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than seven (7) days* notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask that you take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a refund of all but the aforementioned card processing fee will be made.
• Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests. *A 14 day cancellation notice is required on group and whole house bookings as well as for some holidays and special events.
• Online reservations are processed at the time of reservation unless they are more than 30 days in advance in which case only a 25% deposit is processed with the balance to be processed the week of your stay.
