Native trees and plants thrive as well as a gourmet herb garden and lush flower garden. Native and exotic deer roam the hills and come down to be hand fed each evening. Walking paths wind through the property along a deep set box canyon where there are many areas for rest and contemplation.
Only a 1 hour drive from San Antonio, the cottage is easily accessible from IH 10.

Elm Cottage is furnished with comfortable antiques, jet tub and shower, sofa bed, double pillow top queen size bed, video library, CD/tape player, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, books and games. There is a private deck, barbecue grill, patio tables and chairs. A continental breakfast is served plus a generous fruit basket and our special "sweet treats." |
The pantry and refrigerator are stocked with a supply of coffees, teas, cocoa, cereals, milk, juice, jellies, butter, some made with ingredients from our own garden.
Elm Cottage is the newest addition to "the Garden" which was started in 1980. Since then the owners/hosts have lovingly added the unique details which have made it known as a haven of beauty and tranquility in the Hill Country.
The Garden received the Beautification Award from the Kerrville Women's Chamber of Commerce in 1996-97. It has been the site of weddings, memorial services, writing workshops and poetry readings.
