Come for a romantic retreat into another era... Claiborne House was built as a single family home in 1872 and was named after Captain V. H. Claiborne who was the original owner.The house is a modified Greek Revival design with a front gabled roof, and features two 40 foot porches on each side. Original moldings, heart pine floors, thirteen-foot ceilings, and beautiful antiques give the house its gracious character.

The Claiborne House offers six guestrooms. Four of the rooms are located inside the main house and two in the new carriage house. To further the theme of Romanticism and Elegance, all of our rooms are named after romantic poets. All rooms have a framed poem, private baths, color televisions, showers or shower/tubs, ceiling fans, Wireless Internet access, and book of the poet's work.

Offering A Touch of Class Day Spa. Massages, body wraps, hot rock treatments, and salt scrubs are available.

A full Southern gourmet breakfast is served with crystal and china in the dining room at The Claiborne House. Breakfast is served at 9:00 AM so you can have the luxury of sleeping late. Of course, we can accommodate those who must leave early as well. At The Claiborne House we want you to forget there is another world. Come and relax on one or our 4 porches. On one you will find wicker furniture for your pleasure. On another there are wood rockers and a porch swing. For those of you who would enjoy seeing our town, The Claiborne House is only blocks from the downtown shopping area. Whatever you decide, you're sure to have a wonderful time!
