Blanco Texas is located about 45 miles North of San Antonio. A couple of great places to stay while visiting Blanco are the Blanco Bed and Breakfast and the Blanco Inn. The Blanco Classic Car Show is held every year on the Third Saturday in May, along the banks of the Blanco River, in Blanco State Park. The Blanco Lavender Festival is held in May each year. Tour seven local Lavender farms; cut your own blooms at many of the farms; and local lavender products are for sale. The Blanco State Park is in walking distance from downtown Blanco. It is the smallest state park in Texas. The old Blanco County jail was built in 1877 and is one of the oldest standing buildings in Blanco. The jail was used until 1890. For a taste of Texas BBQ you must try Riley's Bar-B-Q, for a down home taste that can not be found elsewhere.
