Blanco Texas is located about 45 miles north of San Antonio. A couple of great places to stay while visiting in town are Blanco bed and breakfasts and Blanco inns. The Blanco Classic Car Show is held every year on the third Saturday in May, along the banks of the Blanco River in Blanco State Park. The Blanco Lavender Festival is held in May each year. Tour seven local lavender farms where you can cut your own flowers at many of the farms, aslo local lavender products are for sale. The Blanco State Park is within walking distance from downtown Blanco. It is the smallest state park in Texas. The old Blanco County jail was built in 1877 and is one of the oldest standing buildings in Blanco. The jail was used until 1890. For a taste of Texas BBQ you must try Riley's Bar-B-Q, for a down home taste that can not be found elsewhere. The Deutsch Apple Bakery offers delicious caramel-praline glazed Apple Pecan Cakes to freshly baked Apple Pies to a wide variety of scrumptious sweets, we're sure you'll find something to bring you back to our charming bakery again and again.
