Amarillo, Texas is the 12th-largest city in the U.S. and the seat of Potter County. The Palo Duro Canyon State Park is the United States' second largest canyon system, after the Grand Canyon, and is located south of Amarillo. When visiting this amazing sight, try a night or two at a local B&B. Another natural landmark near the city, the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument is located 30 miles north of Amarillo. The 31-story Chase Tower was opened in Amarillo's downtown in 1971. Local eateries include Abuelo's Mexican Food Embassy, Tacos Garcia and the Texas Roadhouse with good atmosphere and buckets of peanuts on the table. If you plan to stay overnight, check out an Amarillo bed and breakfast or Amarillo Inn.
