When you get to the Inn at 1816 PostOffice we hope you will take some time to enjoy your luxurious accommodations and the special amenities offered by the Inn. Spend some time playing pool or enjoying board games in our Game Room. Take a leisurely stroll in our beautiful gardens. Relax and enjoy the Gulf breezes on one of our Verandahs. Socialize with the other guests during our afternoon refreshment time. Use the Inn's complimentary bikes to tour Victorians home in the East End Historic District. Galveston's Historic Strand Shopping District and the Postoffice Arts and Entertainment District are only two blocks away. Many fine restaurants, theatres, museums, art galleries, antique shops, dozens of unique shops, trolley car rides and horse cart rides are just a few steps away. The horse cart will deliver you to our door, or pick you up for a trip to the restaurant of your choice, or to shop along the Strand. For day trips there is the NASA Space Center (45minutes), the Houston Sports Facilities (Texans, Rockets, or Astros) (One hour). Birding (local), Deep Sea Fishing is available out of Galveston Bay Harbor. Pier fishing is available at several sites on the Gulf and on Galveston Bay. A day at the Beach or a day at Moody Gardens is a must. (5-10 minutes). The Inn has available Picnic lunches which may be purchased for these short outings. Our Inn is perfect for your special Get-A-Way. We also host Small Business Retreats, Teas, Showers, and Small Intimate Weddings. |
