Tip #223 - Being Healthy on the Road
Road trips can sometimes take a toll on your health, especially in the food department. Chips, soda, and candy are the easiest snacks to eat due to their ease of transport. Here are some tips to avoid those greasy, high sodium, sugary, and processed foods:
Prepare food in portable containers, like mason jars, the night before so you're ready to go in the morning.
Cut fruits, veggies, cheese and other items into bit size pieces. It will be easier to eat during the drive.
Bake savory items, such as pizza, lasagna, meatloaf, tartlets in a muffin pan for miniature hand-sized snacks.
Soak coffee or tea in cheese cloth, in a wide mouth jar or tumbler, at room temperature overnight. In the morning you'll have healthier and a tastier alternative to sugary energy drinks that won't go stale throughout the day.
