Tip #79 - Traveling on a Budget - It Is Possible

Everyone is trying to keep a handle on expenses these days and vacations can be notorious budget-busters. But not if you do a little pre-planning. One easy way to keep spending in check is by deciding on an amount you plan to spend during the duration of the trip. Divide that amount by the number of days you will be gone and that gives you a certain amount each day to spend. Track your expenditures on a separate check register. Make sure to note everything you spend money on, from a newspaper in the morning to a luxurious dinner out.  This way, you can make sure you're within your limit every day. A bonus: no surprising credit card bills when you get home.
