Tip #67 - Go Low Tech

In this day and age of "just Google it!" and high tech everything, it's easy to forget that a good (free!) place to start for planning a trip to a city you've never been to is the area's Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Typically, you can call them ahead of your trip and actually talk to a local for more info. Or of course, you can check their website as well (check the national directory here:  http://www.2chambers.com/). Either way, it's the city's best resource for one-stop shopping when it comes to travel planning within a particular city. They can also point you to the city's chamber of commerce, another good resource.
