Tip #52 - Acclimate to Your Place of Travel.
Give yourself a break. If you're going somewhere with drastically different weather, at a much higher altitude or is very far away, be prepared to take it easy for the first few days. That doesn't mean you can't go out and have fun; just don't pack your first day there with the most strenuous activities. Lessen the effects of jetlag by trying to immediately adjust your internal clock to the one in your current time zone--stay awake until nighttime and then get up in the morning, even if you're still tired. And remember to drink lots of water, which helps your body adjust to hot and humid weather, cold and dry weather, and higher altitudes.
