Everyone knows THE White House is in Washington, D.C. but Ducktown, TN also has The White House...Bed & Breakfast, that is. Obviously, the reason for naming the bed and breakfast in Ducktown "The White House" was different from the one for Washington, D.C. Mountaineer Times We now have broadband WiFi for the whole house.

The White House Bed & Breakfast and the town of Ducktown are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Ducktown is located in the Copper Basin/Ocoee River region of the Southern Appalachian Mountains 2 hours north of Atlanta, 1-1/2 hours east of Chattanooga, 2-1/2 hours south of Knoxville and 2-1/2 hours southwest of Asheville. The 1996 Summer Olympic Whitewater Events were held on the nearby Ocoee River.

There are a variety of activities and sights in the area: Cherokee and Chattahoochie National Forests Cherokee Indian Heritage Ducktown Basin Mining Museum Fields of the Wood-Biblical Theme Park Antique Shops and Flea Markets Golf course nearby Panning for gems and gold 3 TVA lakes offering water skiing, fishing, swimming, boating, hiking trails Trout fishing on Toccoa and Hiwassee Rivers Whitewater rafting on the famous Ocoee River (10 minute drive) and the Nantahala River (1 hour drive) The Ocoee River was the site of the 1996 Olympic Whitewater Events We now have two excursion trains serving our area.
