The Roost - Signal Mountain, Tennessee In response to the economy and ever changing lifestyles, The Roost overhauled its approach in November 2009. It aims to please neither the five star hotel seeker wanting a golf course and in room massages nor the 21 year old partyer wanting a keg in the hallways. I dropped off the menu the cholesterol laden cheese grits and pound of butter coffee cake.

A simple secluded cottage filled with individual charm, The Roost offers:

  • total privacy
  • handcrafted furniture made from original barn beams
  • picture windows looking out onto gardens and woods
  • real books, fresh food, original art work
  • wi-fi, vcr
  • two refrigerators, stove, washer/dryer, eat in kitchen/great room
  • get away for two or a family time for up to six
  • quiet rural location just one mile from supermarket and restaurants

Rates: $115 night upstairs; $140- both floors
Extended stays rate available

Breakfasts: nothing in cellophane! nothing in a prepackaged juice box!
typically: organic wheat bread, cinnamon coffee cake or muffins

natural peanut butters ( banana peanut butter, chocolate peanut butter, bees Knees...etc) hot oatmeal, boiled eggs ( by request)

Accommodations: upstairs- queen size bed and fold out in great room; full bath
downstairs- queen size fold out and half bath
