Spend 2 or more nights on the historic Rattle and Snap Plantation at the beautiful adults only carriage house.

One of only 2500 Historic Landmarks in the U.S., Rattle and Snap Mansion is located in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, 40 miles southwest of Nashville and 60 miles north of Huntsville, Alabama, on I-65. Rattle and Snap on a hilltop 7 miles west of Columbia, Tennessee on State Hwy. 243 in Maury County, is a fine example of the lavish scale on which many Southern homes were built between 1845-1860. It has been referred to as "magnificent," the "most monumental house in Tennessee" and as "one of the best examples of Greek Revival residential architecture in the country." Rattle and Snap was built for George Polk, a son of William Polk, a North Carolinian who was appointed surveyor-general of the Middle District of Tennessee in 1784. Newly Remodeled Historic Carriage House 		Want to stay a weekend or even a week on the grounds of an historic plantation? You and your friends and family can do just that. Our newly remodeled historic Carriage House is now available and accepting reservations. Renovations are now complete and your unique stay comes with all the comforts of home.

The historic carriage house is situated on a secluded area of teh 100 acre plantation behind the mansion. The carriage house is 1,500 square feet and can accommodate up to 6 guests. This exclusive adult getaway is a non-smoking private retreat. Your stay includes a private tour of the mansion and gardens. Relax and unwind in this wonderful piece of Southern history.

The Loft with Two Single Beds Fantastic Rare Antique Queen Size Bed

There are two bedrooms, one features an antique king-size French bed and the other a rare queen antique French bed. The loft, which overlloks the main floor, is furnished with two single beds and other fine antiques. There are two spacious bathrooms and a wonderful kitchen. The main floor also includes an exquisite dining are and an open living room. From the patio, you will enjoy a breath-taking view of the lake and property.

Carriage House Pricing & Details
  • $250 per night for one or two guests
  • $1,375 per week
  • $25 per night each additional guest
  • Two-night minimum

  • Carriage House Reservations
    • Requires a full payment deposit plus a $75 security deposit by check or money order at time of reservation.
    • Reservations will be held for 5 days, providing time for deposits to be mailed to Rattle And Snap.
    • Reservations must be made a minimum of 3 weeks in advance and full payment must be received at least 1 week before arrival date.

  • Carriage House Cancellation Policy:
    • Requires advance notice of any cancellation.
    • Refunds will be made less a 20% handling fee.
    • The handling fee helps cover preparation costs for our overnight guests.
    • Our policies insure that our limited Carriage House accommodations are enjoyed by our guests and do not remain vacant. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
