Introduction

Prospect Hill Bed & Breakfast Inn -

Mountain City, Tennessee
The Wagner-Rambo mansion, circa 1889
Awaken to Tennessee's earliest sunrise, shimmering like gold over the eastern ridges. Enjoy a mountain getaway in our elegant Victorian mansion.

On a hill surrounded by 3 acres of ancient hemlocks and soaring walnut trees overlooking sleepy Mountain City, the 1889 mansion has a three state view (NC, VA, TN). Guests agree, the rooms are comfortable and hospitality generous. This is a place to relax, find yourself, get in touch with your partner and enjoy Mother Nature. And it's an ideal place for elopements and small weddings.

"The care and revival of a vintage home is an ongoing process. Whether you are interested in old houses or the spectacular natural beauty outside our doors, we'd love for you to visit soon. There's something to recommend every season!"

All the large, airy rooms are in the main house. They feature hardwood floors; a king or queen size bed, soft robes, sweets and good reading lights. A second bed can be added to some rooms.

Rooms have unique features... A private balcony; a private entrance, whirlpool tubs, stained glass windows, and elegant staircase leading to an upstairs luxury bathroom. Nearly every room has a gas log fireplace. For ultimate romance consider the two rooms with fireplaces in the bathroom!

"We want your stay to be just right," says Judy and Robert Hotchkiss, the owners and innkeepers...

Just right means the beds are firm enough, rooms are large, pretty, relaxing, and romantic. Guests may adjust their own heat, air conditioning, ceiling fans and gas log fireplaces. Most of the bathrooms are large; some have whirlpools and others large showers. Rooms have in-room phones, data ports for laptop computers and TVs (but not if you request as "electronics-free weekend").

The price should be just right, too, at $99 to $199, depending on the room and the season.

Public spaces are rich with handmade moldings, tall ceilings, colored glass. Stuffy Victoriana has been banished in favor of antique mission oak furniture and Stickley reproductions.
